<p>I’m bringing my two-year old Macbook and getting an external hard drive to accompany it. In a few years, I’ll probably get a new Macbook Pro or something. </p>
<p>Uh I don’t know much about warranties, but I would like to say that it’s a good idea to insure your laptop (and back it up with an HD, which is common sense). My friend got his new Macbook pro stolen at MIT. Thankfully, his laptop and cello were insured (for only $60 a year), and he got a new one a few days later. I don’t think theft is a problem at Rice (is it?), but I’m definitely getting my computer and instrument insured when I go to college. </p>
