[<em>] Strengths: My grades and extracarriculars were pretty good. I thought my essay was good but some people who I asked to look at it were iffy about it, so I’m not quite sure whether to put my essay in strengths or weaknesses…
[</em>] Weaknesses: Test scores were okay but could have been a lot better. Could have had a stronger rec too.
[<em>] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I think I was accepted because my grades were good. It isn’t very easy at all to get straight A’s at an IB school, believe me.

[/ul]General Comments/Advice/Hindsight:[ul]
[<em>] Definitely get a lot of sleep before the SATs or you’ll end up like me and fall asleep during the test.
[</em>] Do not wait until the last minute to get your app in; it shows interest if you submit it earlier and you also avoid huge problems caused by technical difficulties.
[<em>] Ask more teachers for recs than you feel like you need. If you want 1, ask 2. If you want 3, ask 5. The one teacher that I felt like I could rely on for an outstanding recommendation didn’t submitted it. All teachers are really overloaded around college app time… be sure to give all your recommenders a nice Christmas present as thanks 
[</em>] Don’t brush off your short essays. Make sure those are as fantabulous (or even better) than your common app essay.
[*] Don’t sweat it about the box… I honestly don’t think it matters as much as people think it does. Just don’t be overly cheesy and put a picture of Rice. [/ul]</p>
