8 ommits and 2 wrong…score?

about a 760

So is there a consensus on the heartbeat problem? Is it 60 beats or 120 beats?

btw, I’m in Calc I/II

I am positive it is 60. It makes sense mathematically, and in the real world.

What was the question for the polar coord. one?

It’s 60, I think someone earlier on gave the solution.

The period is 2pi/b which in this case was just 2pi/2pi = 1, so each second the heart beats once.

Ragingmen, that’s why I got too, so I can’t figure out why so many people are saying it’s 120.

it’s definitely 60. i think 60 seemed too easy- that’s why a lot of people tried to make it complicated and ended up with 120.

do you guys think that the curve will be lenient? like the usual -omit 6 and get 800?

Yeah 6 omit is 800.

Can anybody verify this? If it’s true, then I think I got it right (accidently) because I remember bubbling in a choice that had 2nd quad and a greater number (i thought it was 4).

I think the answer is all values x.

No, that one is 2nd and 3rd quadrants. It was choice E.

the answer was definitely II and III. sorry, i dont remember if IV was an option, if at all.

do you think the curve will be omit 7 is 800 or omit 6? pr says omit 7, but i dunno…

The answer was the 2nd and 3rd quadrants only…

cos(x) = -(1-sin(x)^2)^(1/2)

Plug in something from the first quadrant, like pi/3 (where cos is 1/2).

cos (pi/3) = -(1 - sin(pi/3)^2)^(1/2)

1/2 = -(1 -3/4)^(1/2)
1/2 != -1/2

It only works where cos(x) is negative, which is in the second and third quadrants only.

The curve is different for every test. The reason I’m crapping my pants right now is everyone is saying that it was easy, which means a tougher curve.

The May 2002 test was:
First column is raw score, second is SAT score
50=800
49=800
48=800
47=800
46=800
45=800
44=800
43=790
42=780

I’ve gotten 3 wrong and 1 omit unless this thread is updated with another one of my blunders or some answers here were wrong (HIGHLY unlikely), which translates to a 45.25 raw score. I only can afford one more blunder until my 800 vanishes, if this test has the 44-50 curve, which I’m praying for.

hazhulkhen, do you think its possible that 43=800???
i also have 3 wrong and 1 omit- and i always like to to assume 2 more wrong due to careless errors, which translates to a raw score of 42.75. so a 43 had better be an 800…or else…::cries::

I’ve heard that 42/50 has been 800 before. There’s still hope.

well i guess we’ll know in 15 days. i don’t know if i can wait that long though :/

when can we check the score?
