shoot, i thought it was “1/n minus 1/p, 1<n<3, 2<p<4” or something like that

i thought the avg question’s answer was 1.25… wasn’t it (1/1+1/2)/2 = 1.25 the greatest value…?

No, .75

It was the average of 1/2 and 1/1.

Man, I did the same thing AznPwyd! =(

(1/1+1/2)/2
=(3/2)/2
=1.5/2
=.75

holy… complete mental error

question…on the Psat, do the questions go in order of difficulty like the SAT?? i hope not

Yeah, they supposedly do

also…was it the same test as taken on WEdnesday?

no, i wish if it was the same

I don’t think so…I’m sure the CB knew if they had the same test that people would talk about it between Wednesday and Saturday

Ok why is the answer to the triangle 18? The question said B(-3,2) and D(3, -4) were opposite vertices. So you have a square with a diagonal of 6 which is the distance between B and D. The square has two 45,45,90 triangles with a common hypotenuse BD which is 6. That means the sides of the square are 3 x root 2. the area of the square is (3 root 2) squared =18. H is between BC so you have a triangle with a base of (3 root 2) and a height (3 root 2). (3root2) times (3 root 2) is 18… divide that by 2 is 9

Question about the last grid in.

I got zero, but there was no zero in the first column to grid in. I wrote zero in the box above it though. Will I still get points?

Can someone tell me why they thought the sides of the square was six for that math question grid in?

I’m not totally sure about that triangle problem any more, with all this controversy, but [here is how I understood the problem](http://ameri-cantraders.com/math.jpg).

Correction: I’m not going to edit my picture, but by “midpoint of B and C,” I meant, “midpoint of line BC.”

Thank you, differentiable…that’s how I saw it too.

Lakers08: How is the distance between (-3,2) and (3, -4) equal to 6?

Damnit… i did the distance equation wrong… ok i see the picture now. What do you guys think minus 7 to 9 on CR will be (with no omits)

Ok, the cake/pizza/salad question completely stumped me…could someone please set up the equations?
