Bleh. I got that one wrong then

Doe anyone remember the SC with the answer choices of compunction, requisition, and pretext???

It was agreed to be pretext

Edit: The question was something like…

The person asked his neighbors for coffee so that he did not have to talk to them too seriously (or something like that). This was a ______ to meet new people.

^^the answer to that question was pretext…cuz the guy in the question was using borrowing a hose (or sumthing) as a pretext (an excuse) to meet his neighbors

edit: dang too slow…sigh

Does anyone remember any of the other SCs (other than the pretext one) in Section 3?

The new mayor commended the old mayor for being _______ because he helped to _____ the divisions

I got conciliating…heal

Oh, okay… I think I got that wrong, I don’t remember filling in that as an answer.

Did any of the other answer choices have a word like “heal”… Because I think I was going for something like heal or resolve… But I really can’t remember that question…

No, sorry Seaghost527. ): I tend to get the sections mixed up after awhile.

All right, so instead of griping about which questions shouldn’t have been on the test, I’m going to be grateful now. xP The test was, on the whole, easier than I’d anticipated, and I’m pretty confident about it. I had ample time on all the sections, and there weren’t any questions on which I was just plain stuck. And my allergies didn’t attack me like when I took the bio SAT II test.

So this is one of the best standardized tests I’ve taken.

I’m going to try to preserve this optimism for two months. Heh.

Precarious, demeaning, impugn, nefarious, abrasque, those are just some of the right SC answers that come to mind.

Abrasque isn’t a word, though. Do you mean the abrasive one? Because I remember a question about a brusque guy.

lol Abrasque.

But yeah, I think I put abrasive as an answer.

what was the answer to the question with the group settling in an area and leaving? (a sentence correction (writing) MC)

i was confused with the “perhaps because”

Oh yeah, that one was confusing… I believe that was the last one in that part of the W section.
I was staring at for a few minutes and finally picked… I think B.
It started with Because.
Or maybe I’m thinking of the FDA one…?

No, I think it was that one.
I chose the one that was like… Because of increased heat, the Anasazi people were forced to abandon.
I narrowed it down between B and E, but I chose B because E was in the passive voice… I believe.

does anyoen know the answer to that flag wavign one. i remembered that that question was kind of weird, but i cant recall the exact question.

Oh, this is really random and I don’t even remember if it was CR or W, but one of the answers I chose had the word “antithetical” in it.

svvimfreak: It had to do with writing only what people want to hear, and being unwilling to express controversial opinions (the passage was saying that she did the opposite of that).

Seaghost: I had antithetical, too. It was in reference to a short passage about a book that people either loved or hated.

ah thanks. thats wat i put.

damn so i missed 3 on critical reading so far =(

so wat do u guys think? will the national merit cut-off score be lower or higher than last year’s?

It varies by state.

I would guess harder, just because the generations are getting smarter.

Last year in my state the cutoff was 218, so for this year I guess it’ll be the same, or maybe 219/220.

Sucks for me.
Why can’t I live in Wyoming…
