Official September ACT Reading Thread

The online question was about how you could read more review and opinions than ever before or something along those lines.

that was an answer to one of the questions. right? I think i put that. It dealt with online stuff or something

Sillyup, yeah, that’s what the passage said, but that wasn’t an answer choice, was it? Because the question asked what impact the online stuff had.

You kept pressing other members for a reason it was argumentative - I gave it. You weren’t listening to the short ones. Not my problem you’re sticking to a wrong answer AND being lazy.

I had the same answer as Sillyup. I’m pretty sure at some point it said that newer authors could get more recognition or something like that. I don’t remember exactly what it said but it seems like it was on the first or second paragraph on the top of the right half of the page.

It’s informative. The title of the article doesn’t matter, we weren’t even given it.

Well there’s another wrong answer. That’s at least -2 for me

baileyj57. Read my last response prior to my “tl;dr” comment. I acknowledged I was wrong, and it only took a few sentences to prove so – not a dissertation. I don’t get why you made something so trivial such a big deal, but that’s not my problem lol.

If I remember correctly the title was in small print in the left hand corner of the page with the passage… At least I think that was what was there; I may be wrong.

Sillyup20 the title is not the only justification baileyj57 gave. Stop arguing about the answer unless you’re going to refute the justifications with examples that disprove them.

“I know I’m right because I’m awesome and a genius!” Doesn’t count; pretty much everyone here (yourself included) is in the top 5% nationally intelligence wise

Do we agree that the statement by that one Laura Miller or whatever was a defining philosophy of the indie store supporters? something along those lines?

Also, the question about what impact the online stuff had. Wasn’t there an answer choice for something about providing customers with more book choices or whatever?

^ Yes, I got that.

Sorry I don’t remember the section it was in, and I’m sure that it’s been answered already, but I need closure on the “photography. After” (bats) question, I think it was English I’m sorry but what is it lol

apache123: Do you remember what the question was about at all other than "photography?

It was in English I’m positive (I know I’m in reading). It was about the bat researcher who was trying to help the public realize that bats weren’t as “nasty” or whatever as pictures made them out to be

I truly have no clue about the bat one. If anyone remembered some of the answer choices I would probably be able to remember the correct answer.

Could everyone reply with as many answers/questions for the bookstore passage? That was the passage I saved for the last and ran out of time on. I literally sprinted through it.

For the bat one? He learned wildlife photography or something along those lines.

The title of the argumentative passage was most definitely given as that was what solidified my answer choice. Now the prose passage. Was one (the second question?) about her being a [insert long italicized Hawaiian word]? Also, did one of the later answers have to do with her walking down the street w/ the casket or something

For the grasshopper one there was a questions with answers like: the behavior was normal to grasshoppers but not to other animals, the behavior was not normal to all animals, etc. What did you guys get?

was the answer something like, grasshoppers showed evolutionary patterns or something. i think the answer to that question dealt with something bigger than just stating grasshoppers behavior was different

going back to the online book selling one, I put that it gave voice to more writers.
