I just looked at the Yale supplement on the Common App on a whim. The Stanford one asked questions that were so much more interesting. ;)

I listed Jason Mraz, Josh Turner, and Zac Brown band. Doubt any of you listed any kind of country music? Oh well…

JASON MRAZ <3
but no, not a fan of country xD sorry

Haha NO one is. Even people here in Springfield hate country!
I AM OBSESSED WITH JASON MRAZ. I’m so serious. If I don’t get into Stanford I should probably just be some kind of groupie.

You’d be really good at that Courtney

Oh thank you Michelle
I can always count on you to be supportive!
GUYS EMMA JUST TOLD ME THAT SOMEONE GOT INTO STANFORD THROUGH THE QUESTBRIDGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. UGH.

i agree. I’m the only one I know of out of 360 at my school.

lol so many people listed the beatles!!! i put down ne-yo, mariah and beyonce.

I put Beatles, U2, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, and Explosions in the Sky. I would have put more, but they said to limit it.

Anytime, Court.

Heyy guys, new to the thread
We’re talking about what we put for music? I’m so mercurial (oh look at me, I may as well be in Stanford already) with my music taste that I actually just put my last couple artists played as my favorites: Darren Criss, Bob Marley, Juanes, Green Day, Atmosphere, and Tchaikovsky.
I feel like I may have been pushing it with the Green Day, but I wanted to be honest haha

I’m new too (to this thread and to college confidential). I am getting beyond nervous for the tenth! I think my level of anxiety is increasing exponentially with time…

@soccerfan5 I definitely put all four of those bands on my app! I love Vampire Weekend. Actually, I love all of them :)

@ all the newcomers: Introduce yourselves! You are all officially Stanford REA 2015 knaves :p

hello!

amrita, j’saying, the term “mercurial” isn’t quite applicable to a person…but a mercurial nature is more proper.

and hehe knaves. :D

nine days. This is madness.

(*btw, any Broadway fans?)

Amrita, I love Juanes!! Para Tu Amor is my favorite. It’s epic:)

Juanes is amazing! My Spanish teacher from Colombia played him all the time. I love La Camisa Negra and Me Enamora:)

My favorite singer is Vienna Teng; the fact that she did her undergraduate at Stanford and recorded her first album in Stanford’s music studios is only a coincidence…
I also listed Utada Hikaru and Lady Gaga.

(*btw I love Broadway)

Nerdess, I am a Broadway fanatic. Seriously, it’s a little insane.

For music, I put down Florence + The Machine and Damien Rice. And something else that I can’t remember.
