*Official* Stanford REA 2015 Applicants' Discussion Thread

Guitar player of 9 years! Completely self taught. I also play my voice. Haha. I sure hope STanford has an awesome Acapella presence. I love acapella and choral work.

I even look like Jason MRaz!

so hey guys, i’ve been reading this for awhile and i know why you guys think it’s going to be friday, but what if it’s actually next week? wouldn’t counting down be such a disappointment? :/

I play the piano and a bit of guitar. I used to be pretty good at the flute too, but stopped playing after 8th grade.

@jason - you kinda do look like him, now that I think about it. He’s a pretty good singer too

@evanescene1234 - that would be cruel. very cruel.

I played the clarinet for 5 years due to orders from the parental units… Finally got to quit in 9th grade. Would have been playing again of my own accord by a couple of months into 10th grade, but by then my sister had it! Finally got it back at the beginning of the summer… Played on and off since then. There’s just not enough time. Hoping I’ll be able to once I get in somewhere I really want or once the semester ends, whichever comes first…

I share EXACTLY the same pessimistic outlook as chealy does, though.

Why am I such an amazing person?

Wulfran are you in the facebook group? If so, who are you?

@chealy- im a canadian living in the U.S. i didn’t apply for FA. good luck!

I’ll let you know via PM. Don’t much feel like giving random lurkers my name.

Mesdames et messieurs, voici la page numero 259!

Well you are a knave, aren’t you…

:p

I’m glad someone else agrees with my philosophy :)

Serious question: Let’s say that the Dean’s tradition of releasing decisions the prior Friday continues this year: Then ideally, on December 10th, the Director of Admissions will make an announcement on the Admissions News website stating that decisions will be posted 3pm. However, what if no such announcement is made? Do we resign ourselves to the fact that decisions won’t be released until the 15th, or do we still sit there madly refreshing our inboxes all night? I feel like the latter is bound to happen either way

Whatever happens, happens, Enigma. We can’t control it. We’ll probably all just engage in some more sexual talk over AIM, to be honest.

What are you talking bout Mrs. En Pointe? All of our AIM conversations are very much clean and non sexual, thank you very much.

I agree with courtney. We’ll probably end up refreshing our inboxes either way imo

@Brain Twin: please join me in sitting that one out… :p

If that happens, though, I’m going to be madly refreshing my inbox and the announcement page for a while. Then I’ll probably get distracted and forget all about it for half an hour… Then remember, freak out again, and start madly refreshing once more. This will repeat in a cycle. Short attention span ftw?

As far as WE know, they only announce it on their Admission News page that day. However, it’s possible that they email the applicants that day, too, to notify them that the decisions are going to be released… At least that’s what I heard Columbia did. Yesterday they emailed their ED applicants and told them their decisions are gonna be released on the 9th. So hopefully they email us so we don’t have to sit around refreshing the Admission News page… ANYWAY yes, the wait from the 10th to the 15th would be awful if it came to that :(

@Jason: 9 years!! wow! I’ve only been playing for about 4… I’m a noob  My recital is this Sunday though and we’re playing a jazz piece so I’m super excited…

@courtney: Haha I played piano for like 7 years, hating it, until I finally quit in 8th grade and picked up guitar… so much more fun

I think that they might mean that they will send everything out BY the 15th
