*Official* Stanford REA 2015 Applicants' Discussion Thread

No we’ve realized we all have a problem.

I will be establishing CC Anonymous so we can finally curb our addiction to this site.

You have interesting alliances, if Stanford ended up in the Rose Bowl against Wisconsin you’d be in quite a pickle. Yea Michigan State is not that good but I think they’re still better than Vtech, Vtech lost to Boise and JMU in back to back games. How could you say you’re a BCS caliber team if you lose to an FCS school? They’re good but they’re not as good as LSU or Oklahoma State. TCU is a fraud, wisconsin better put up another 70 point game so that we can end this overhyped BCS buster nonsense.

Hokies fan? They did produce Ed Wang, the only (real) asian football player in the NFL, so basically my hero.

hahaha!! Nah it that flipping through 10 new pages of material is really taxing. Besde teh fb group aim chat and skype are more than enough to keep in touch

VTech has won 10 straight. They were completely disorganized in their first two games of the season, their D which sucked then is there strength now.

Also Ed Wang is my hero. He shares my initials. E.WANG’S UNITE!

Tyrod Taylor is legit though, it should be a good game but idk how that hokie defense is gonna stop Stanford’s power set. Marecic and DeCastro leading for Taylor, Wilkerson, Gaffeny, and even Amanam, the backs are all fast enough to hit the hole and shifty enough to break middle level tackles. It’ll be interesting to watch how Tyrod does scrambling against the 3-4 rush, Thomas did well with it and that’s partly why Stanford lost to Oregon.

Ed Wang. Half of Hines Ward. Half of Patrick Chung. All my heroes, and Owen Marecic of course.

but kimathi, we need to at least beat last year’s post count

or at least get 5200

Double posting

Please. Michigan State had its best season in decades, and they got screwed over by a rigged BCS system. Wisconsin lost to them. Period. No excuse for that, just like there wasn’t an excuse for MSU losing to Iowa. I do think that Wisconsin deserved a BCS bowl game, though. They crushed teams in their last few games (83 points!). That said, I’m upset that MSU didn’t get a BCS bowl. What’s more upsetting is that as Big 10 Champions, they have to play in a second rate bowl while a mediocre team like UConn (7-4 in a weak conference) gets to play in a bowl game. Same thing happened to the Badgers in 06’. Anyway, I can’t wait to see Michigan State get a win against Nick $aban

so how’s everyone doing?

I’m a little bit surprised that sports actually came up in this thread

The Cap1 is not a second rate bowl game. Be happy you’re in it, it’s the best non-BCS game in a lot of people’s eyes. And you’re playing a hella good Alabama team. If Sparty can beat them, you’ll prove a lot of people wrong. It’s just that from how they closed the year, I don’t see that happening.

Bama’s going to win that game, hands down.

Everyone can agree that the BCS is screwed but in no way is the Capital One bowl a second rate bowl, especially not now that it’s michigan st vs bama. A playoff system would just be better for everyone, it could shut up all the Non AQ complaining as well as fix the BS that is a 4 loss team playing above multiple one loss teams.

Also I hope Oregon stomps on Auburn, rep the Pac-10 against the SEC which I’m sick of hearing about. Auburn won like 7 of their games in 4th quarter comebacks, Oregon only was down to Stanford and Cal, they are the better team.

I think it will be a great game either way, and win or lose Michigan State has had one of its best seasons ever, so I’m content with that.

Seriously. I looked up the Yale SCEA thread just for fun… and they only have…

1244 posts!!! Only 83 pages!!!

Stanford REA-ers are awesome! :)

You’re right, but the BCS bowl games are the ones teams are most proud of, I suppose.

Also, the 2 team limit from a conference needs to be removed. Wisconsin had the same issue in 2007 when we went 12-1 and finished the year ranked #5 but had no chance at a BCS game because Meeeeechigen and OSU were too busy stinking it up in the BCS. This year, that team was Michigan St.

Darn right we are.

opaldragon, that’s why we’re graeat
