*Official* Stanford REA 2015 Applicants' Discussion Thread

In spite of everything I’ve said, I’ll be very frustrated if decisions don’t end up coming out today.

“just chill out everyone, it will be fine”(say this in a hippie voice) that’s how I feel right now

I thought I had already exhausted my ability to stress over this, but apparently not. Gonna be a pain for the next several hours…

It’s funny I know, but true

Haha I don’t know about y’all, but I’m more excited than anxious. I just want to know my fate so I can start applying to my other schools.

I’m also applying to:
Duke
N’Western
Rice
Penn
Yale

I’m on the fence about UChicago, JHU, and WashU. I’m not sure I would go to one of those schools even if accepted. And if I get at least half-tuition at USC, I think I’m going to LA regardless.

However, the only thing that may cause me to even consider not taking Stanford would be full-tuition at USC  So bring it on!

It’s now 8am pacific time!! Any minute now hopefully…

Stanford’s admissions offices open at 8:30 PST

I guess the message will be posted at around 10… The director / dean will have to give the executive order to make the decisions available today before the posting is done.

guys…as a stanford early from last year(who was rejected), just relax for now. I remember doing the exact same thing last year. Don’t do this to yourself. If you’re going to get in, you will. No point in worrying. I remember being reallllly upset last year and felt terribly after early came out. But, you have to kind of push to through rest of senior year, because in the end, you’ll end up somewhere you’re happy. Yes, I still regret not getting into stanford, but I’m happy where I am. So, best of luck!!:)

if you RSS the old admissions news, you’ll see that the announcement has been made sometime in the afternoon EST… still praying for it to come out today!!! EEEK

I have my Upenn MIT JHU Carleton College Grinnell College and Tuft University Applications on hold until Decision. If I get in I’ll probably still apply to MIT and Upenn. if i don’t, I’ll finish all applications.

And the constant refreshing begins… :)

for the last time (if the decisions will be today):::

GOOD LUCK to us all :)

Why is it that people thing that the decision will be coming out today?

I haven’t been freaking out about it because I’ve been freaking out about all of my other college applications.

Admission Decisions to be Released Earlier Than Expected

December 10, 2010

Restrictive Early Action applicants will be sent their admission decisions beginning at 3pm today. Decisions will be sent via email beginning at 3pm (Pacific Time), several days ahead of schedule. The admission committee finalized its selection process earlier than anticipated and in an effort to quell anxiety among applicants, parents, counselors, and alumni, Dean Shaw made the executive decision to release decisions today, December 10. Please understand that while we will begin to send decisions at 3pm (Pacific Time), it may take some time before your decision reaches you. Decision emails will not reach every applicant immediately at 3pm. It may take several hours before decisions are received. If we encounter any technical glitches or your internet service provider blocks our email, delivery may be interrupted. As a result, we respectfully ask that you do not call or write to the Office of Undergraduate Admission to request your admission decision. We will not begin releasing decisions over the phone until Wednesday of next week.

We understand and empathize with your anxiety right now and we will do everything in our power to ensure that your admission decision reaches you as soon as possible. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

Take care,

Bob Patterson
Director of Admission

Its official:- The descisions will be out by 3 pm PST today…
