You realize that you can use the privacy settings to prevent certain people from seeing certain things right?
Like if I’m posting an off-color joke, I’ll block adults from seeing it… and if I’m posting something for a game, I’ll prevent people who don’t play that game from seeing it…</p>
<p>BUT, you can’t prevent Facebook itself from looking at whatever info you give them. :O</p>

<p>Hi there jewelledhunter!!! I cannot believe that tomorrow is the day that all of our ‘brand-name schools’ give out their decisions 
alright, you want to know what colleges some of us have gotten into? Well, I began my common application in early July of 2010 and I panicked about the idea of not getting in anywhere, so I applied to a total of 17 schools (yeah, I know I should have kept it below ten). Yet, somehow I have not received any rejections yet and I have heard back from 12 of my schools. There are the colleges I have been accepted to: UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, Northwestern, University of Notre Dame, Boston University, NYU, University of Richmond, Cornell University, and today I was blessed with an acceptance from Stanford. I feel so blessed to have been this fortunate, and never would have guessed that I would have gotten into to half of these schools. But on the 30th I find out about: Brown, UPenn, Columbia, and Harvard. OK, well its late, good luck to you tomorrow on your ivy league prospects (which ones did you apply to?)!!!

<p>So I’ll give you a small update about the core 15 or so from this thread. We have got into Stanford, Harvard, Penn, Darmouth, Princeton, USC, MIT, Duke, WashU, Uchi, Northwestern, Rice, UCB, UCLA etc. Everyone is in on at least one (more often more than 1) top 25 institution. Moral of the story: an early rejection/deferral from Stanford is not the end of the world! We have certainly witnessed this!</p>
