Official Stanford REA Admissions 2014 Discussion Thread

I have no need for jealousy, lol.

Prussia, what I meant to say was that if you had the conception that you were a highly qualified student with top notch essays, and Stanford was your dream school at the time, you would invariably have found Starmie’s comments annoying and patronizing.

“Others say, ‘Yes! I did it!’ But I will choose to say, ‘Yes LORD! You did it! I am just lucky to be a part of your grace.’”

“Others say, ‘No! I failed!’ But I will choose to say ‘It’s okay! God has a different plan for me.’”

Just another way of looking at things.

I would just like to apologize for my post. It was a d0uche move.

Seriously congrats to all of those who were accepted, you do deserve it! Prove the bitter, conceited part of my personality wrong and dominate Stanford. You have the tools, use them to the fullest! Always remember that you beat out 5000 kids for your spot; appreciate your blessing and love life. I wish all of you the best of lives and I know that you will all do splendidly. Ignore the petty people (such as myself in the last post :frowning: ) who attempt to diminish your accomplishment.

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow, learn as if you were to live forever.”

I’m just saying that I know USNAgolden2014, and I was one of the people he knows that was rejected. And one of our friends is so amazing. Let’s just say that he’s won national awards in almost every discipline, got perfect scores on everything, finished all his AP classes as a sophomore, and has research that the Department of Health requested.

But that just goes to show how amazing the rest of the people who got accepted were.

Oh, and for my stats, since I just spent time talking about someone else:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/824187-official-stanford-university-rea-decisions-class-2014-a-5.html

I got in! I’m soooooo excited  It still doesn’t feel real. Is anyone else here who got in from Arizona?

Is there anyone who got in from Tejas (Texas)?

West Texas here! I’m wondering how many got admitted from Texas this year. Anyone know how many got admitted last year?

i understand that many of you guys (86.5% of applicants) did not get in and are very disappointed whether you were deferred or rejected
but those of us who did deserved it and i would appreciate if you didn’t hate on us just for getting in. personally, i would have been crushed if i didn’t get in but i would have the civility (like electricninjasex said) not to insult the people who did.
i empathize with you, i really do, but please, be nice.

I’m not saying this with pity. I wouldn’t want to go to a college that didn’t want me.

To USNAGolden, Anonymous, and all the other extremely qualified students: HYP_M are still your playgrounds. Hell… from an objective standpoint, all of you are going to go to bomb colleges and most of you will probably be accepted to the elite of the elite.

I’m not even trying to have some [“condescending” -amciw] pity that amciw thinks is inherent to human thought (god damn he is a ****ing Hobbes pessimist). It’s just a damn fact that you guys are going to have it good no matter what.

NJDS - CONGRATULATIONS! I’m really happy for those who got in. There’s no reason that we can’t be upset for ourselves and be happy for others at the same time, so I competely agree. We should all be civil.

Electricninjasex - What an interesting username. Hahaha. Anyway, I think you got in also, so congratulations. I think most the people rejected were qualified, but there’s limited room, so it shouldn’t be personal. But it feels that way right now. I’m hoping that I get in to one of the elite colleges though. I don’t really have a backup school. All of them are as hard to get into as Stanford. So…time to start looking elsewhere.

I hope I don’t sound bitter.

omg i cant be here…i am applying to stanford RD
this is so nerve wracking…
is anybody here willing to read my stanford essays???

I was accepted to Stanford and I JIZZED. IN. MY PANTS.

very nice pewpewpew

Yes…from Chaparral

Ewww… I. PUKED. IN. MY MOUTH in response to your words

:P

Love your way of thinking! So true. God bless.

Was checking the SCEA results page and noticed a lot of results from people who only have only posted once. IDK if they are ■■■■■■ or not… but it seems kind of odd…

I’m sure a lot of random people got their decisions back then googled “Stanford Early Action 2014” and got to this site. Its like the holy land

“I’m not even trying to have some [“condescending” -amciw] pity that amciw thinks is inherent to human thought (god damn he is a ****ing Hobbes pessimist). It’s just a damn fact that you guys are going to have it good no matter what.”

Protip: you aren’t trying to bring yourself down. It’s not the same.

Also, it’s not a good idea to put words in others’ mouths. I don’t think being condescending is inherent to human thought.

I never really addressed you, aside from the unnecessary comment about, so I don’t understand your tirade anyways.
