Official Stanford SCEA 2016 Applicants' Discussion Thread

The suspense is killing me~~

Do any of u guys already have PINs and pw for Stanford site

i calculated the time wrong and was waiting for the email with the door locked and everything… waiting nervously wondering why there’s no email coming but then i find out that i still have another 40 minutes or so -_-

Can someone answer my question from above, please?

Wouldn’t they email west coast peeps first?

I would suppose so since its the same time zone but idk why the email came in so late last year
Maybe they release emails in some other way besides time zone?

cs, no its in the email, theres no link

Either

Stanford will send the e-mails by states from east to west (i.e. MA to HI)
or
Stanford will send the e-mails by acceptance, rejection, and deferral?

callmesarahhh, really? someone got it 3 hours late?

Or by names. I am fairly certain that is how they do it.

For those of you waiting, here is the acceptance email that my son received a couple of years ago:

Good luck to all of you. Stanford is an amazing experience.

Congratulations! On behalf of the Office of Undergraduate Admission, it is my pleasure to offer you admission to Stanford’s Class of 2014.

You have every reason to be proud of your accomplishments, and we are honored to invite you to join the Stanford community. Since its founding in 1891, Stanford has been defined by students and faculty who endeavor to push the limits of knowledge, and who share a commitment to extending that spirit of exploration and excellence beyond campus. Ours is a community of scholars dedicated to what university co-founder, Jane Stanford, called “the cultivation and enlargement of the mind.” Should you choose to join us at Stanford - and I sincerely hope you do - you will be challenged, and in turn will challenge others, to redefine the boundaries of the known, to make the once impossible, possible, and to offer contributions that stretch well beyond your immediate sphere of influence. I am confident from your application that you have the intellectual energy, imagination and talent to do just that, and much more.

The materials in your admit packet (forthcoming by mail) are designed to assist you with the enrollment response process and to provide important information for you and your family as you consider your enrollment options. Whatever decision you make, please know that you have until May 1, 2010, to confirm your choice.

Over the next few months, we will be sending you additional information about Stanford and Admit Weekend, a three-day program scheduled for April 22-24, 2010. You also are invited to visit our admitted student website, developed in conjunction with Stanford students just for you. Should you want to contact us for any reason, please do not hesitate to call our office at (650) 723-2091 or email us at admit@stanford.edu.

Please note that your admission is contingent upon continued strong academic performance in the program of courses you presented to us in your application. Should you have compelling reasons to modify your previously planned course schedule, please contact us before initiating any changes.

xxx, we are all confident in the unique and extraordinary contributions you will make to our community. Again, we extend our congratulations on your admission to Stanford University and look forward to welcoming you to our family!

Sincerely,
Richard H. Shaw
Dean of Admission and Financial Aid

Dancing around my room listening to my ‘Accepted’ playlist as a form of prayer. Anxiety is my middle name right now.

Yupp, I’m not sure if it was a computer glitch or something like that. We have international students at my school, though, so the student could have been a boarder from some other part of the world (different time zone), but i’m not 100% sure if she was

So now I know to look for the word “Congratulations.” Ugh, the terror is extreme… 30 minutes…

They should really think of making a “like” button on these thread comments…

I’m just gonna close the email if the first words are “thank you”…

Or, “Unfortunately”

Or “you suck why did you even bother applying”

That’s what mine is gonna say

“we regret…”

20 minutes guys… 1200 seconds…
