<p>hi, all. i have been following this thread for a couple of days now, because (a) my little sister is applying to stanford and i want all the details and (b) studying for finals is rough, haha.</p>
<p>tomorrow will certainly be an intense day, and i wish all of you the best of luck! but, before tomorrow comes, i urge all of you to take a moment to appreciate and congratulate yourselves on the impressive people that you are right now, regardless of if you get into stanford. it sounds like you are all incredibly bright, talented individuals who have accomplished so much already in your lives, and i foresee bright futures for all of you. please don’t let a simple college decision define who you are, because, at the risk of sounding cheesy, at the end of the day you’re still you! good luck, remember to stay balanced and remain compassionate toward yourselves.</p>

<p>Well guys this is it. Even though my chances are slim I still manage to grasp the little bit of hope and I’m clinging on with all my life. This one’s for my mom, despite the struggles and hardships she did all that she could for me. That being said, If I do get in my life will change forever and my mom will get peace of mind.</p>

<p>My first attempt at posting comes very late in the game, but here goes. I’m not a member of a high school class of 2013, or a nervous applicant to the Stanford class of 2017. I’m just a Dad with a son (of whom I’ve very proud) who will hear from Stanford tomorrow. </p>
<p>Anyway, I just wanted to say that I’ve been reading your posts, and sympathize with your anxiety, but do have the benefit of a few years of life experience. That being said, I offer up the following: </p>
<ol>
<li>No matter what happens tomorrow, I am confident that each of you will be a great asset to whatever school is lucky enough to end up having you as a student.</li>
<li>Some of the things that I thought I wanted the most in life, and got, ended up sucking, so keep that in mind if you don’t get the news you want tomorrow.</li>
<li>I am not going to tell you to listen more to your parents, but you should listen more to Avenged Sevenfold!</li>
</ol>
