General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations, etc:
I was super surprised that I got admitted as were most of my friends and classmates. Don’t give up hope if your grades and test scores aren’t perfect. However, don’t inflate expectations and delude yourself. Even though I got accepted to Stanford, I was rejected by 6 Ivies (didn’t apply to Cornell and still waiting for what I can only imagine must be a rejection from Columbia). Heck, I was deciding between UChicago and NYU only three days ago.
Briefly explain why you applied to Stanford (This may very roughly show who really had an interest and if there is some correlation with acceptance):
I only applied because it was the best school in California. Didn’t expect to get admitted at all.
