***Official Thread for 2016 BSMD applicants***

Thank you for insight and details. We never applied but your reply must have helped a number of kids.

@fifteenpapers not many, i listed the hours/week, but not the weeks per year

@fifteenpapers for GW they will just contact you sometime in Jan or Feb I believe for an interview

does anyone know when exactly in January GW/GW is coming out and whether or not we have to write an essay before we get the interview? I checked the forum from last year and from what I understood, some people got an essay while others went straight to the interview, but not sure
?

@ultimate314 i don’t think it should impact you that much

Anyone that got into CNU
 I wanted to know when (after the interview) they let you know if you got in or not. I have mine over the phone next week.

@ymehkri they let me know 2 days later

@ymehkri, I got my acceptance two days after the interview (email)
@lyfe33, did you interview on the 22nd of December?

Anyone who has had the TCNJ interview-what types of questions do they ask?

@WaitingtoKnow, thanks! Always helps to take off those rose-colored glasses and look at the real facts. I don’t expect many high schoolers to listen, but at least it’s there for those who are willing to listen.

@allefficace 29th of December

D Just got an email from TCNJ inviting for an interview on Jan 12th

anyone know anything about Albany Med Interviews? like is it MMIs or a committee interview? What kinds of questions they’ll ask?

Just received an email for TCNJ’s interview on January 13th!
Haven’t heard back from RPI/Albany after submitting the albany supplemental app; I believe that will come out sometime this month.
does anyone know the importance of AP scores in bs/md decisions?

@sonpat Albany MED Interview:
These guys also had a pretty interesting situation. They had a group activity followed by typical physician interview. The group activity involved providing a plan for giving advice to high school freshman regarding what they should be thinking about in terms of college admissions during each year of high school.The coordinators observe your idea generation and presentation process; the key is to stand out as a leader in some way. You will be presenting with around 4-5 other students. Before that they had us go around and give a brief background as well as interests. After the group activity/lunch you also get to meet undergrads in the programs for the respective schools which is then followed by a physician interview. I had a very friendly lady who just asked the basic questions and pressed more on my experiences.

Someone from the past wrote this^

That was Albany’s interview layout from 2012. It could easily be completely different this year, but that’s all we have to work off of unless we can get some info from last year’s applicants

Posted below NEOMED 2015 stats from their web site. But do any one know stats for the following questions.

  1. How many OOS students called for interview (breakup between in-state and OOS for the 214 students invited)
  2. How many were offered (for the 104 matriculants)
  3. What is the break up between in-state and OOS for the offers

APPLICATIONS 466
OHIO APPLICATIONS 268 (57.5%)
INTERVIEWED 214 (45.9%)
ACCEPTED OFFER 104 (22.3%)
Accepted OHIO residents 95
Accepted OOS students 9

Does anybody know the layout for Penn State/Jefferson’s interview?

Is Penn State/Jefferson still reviewing applications or have all the interviews been sent out?

Received Union/AMC and RPI/AMC interview invitations today.
