What are your stats?

Not to rain on anyone’s parade, but yeah, right now it seems like everyone that submitted a fafsa got the email.

Sent from my PC36100 using CC App

I woke up this morning and checked my email on my phone before getting out of bed like I usually do. I saw the two emails in my inbox and DARTED to my computer. I’m not much of a religious person but, please god, let this be a sign!

I think it’s kind of strange that these would go out before admission. We can’t even log in to view them?

Anybody volunteer to call the FA office? ahhaha

No idea. I was excited to take classes with Tim Groseclose at UCLA. He seems like a fair guy–for instance, he favors affirmative action in theory, but since it’s against California law he made a big stink about UCLA unofficially giving URMs a boost in the admissions process.

Looking like this email might not mean anything after all. Gah.

ucrazy - ugh i would but i have class in ~20 that i’m already going to be late to…and i have a midterm in it.

lol cc why do you mess me up like this.

Found your stats in the UCI thread. The average admitted GPA for Biological And Biomedical Sciences majors at Berkeley was 3.67 in 2009 (most recent year in Statfinder). If your prerequisites are complete for Cal, you’re at least competitive with your 3.6-3.7 GPA (particularly since your major GPA is 3.9).

my stats are pretty average… I can’t list them because I’m late for class but I have more than 80 credits (92) from CC and a 4-yr and I applied to chem biology in the coll of chemistry and it says that applicants with more than 80 units need special approval (since I’m over the cap).

damn I’m late anyway. 3.6ish igetc done missing 1 prereq. BUT i’ve been rejected basically everywhere for having too many credits.

For ucb i’m missing a semester of zoo or genetics. i followed course pattern according to uci and ucsd which was diff than cal.

The unit cap for Berkeley doesn’t apply to students who started at a four-year, then changed to a CCC and stayed there. UCLA has a similar policy.

It’s different at SB, SD, and SC–at those schools, if you have 90 or more, you’re done.

Hey I still didn’t get the email, guys! So not EVERYONE got it. Wish you all luck! I hope its a good sign for you!

I didn’t get an email. I’ve completed and updated the FAFSA.

@zambonibecky
Did you apply for FAFSA?

raising my bet to 50 bucks now…

I got the email. Where do we even log on to check our decision status? Is it a system like LA’s or did we set up an account and I just don’t recall.

I just received two copies of the financial aid email from Cal. Is this a good sign?

Yep, applied for FAFSA. No email.

dunno if it matters, but I applied for FAFSA fairly early around early february

Naniwa: Can you tell us what time they were sent so we can tell if they are being sent out rolling or not?
