Official UC Berkeley 2015 Transfer Thread

Wow why would UCLA reject you,…

Wow, @lakersman, that’s tough.

One minor thought: do you have a lot of AP accounting for some units. I saw at UCSD they forgot to add them to the unit count for someone who was rejected and they recalculated it.

Rejected. I’m really upset right now but at the moment it looks like UCLA for me.

@spenceyboi I knew you would get in. I have never laughed so hard on college confidential! You are a funny one

I received admission for the Spring semester. Is it possible to appeal for admission for Fall semester? I already wrote a very good appeal (new information such as big internship, professor’s recommendation, other EC)

REJECTED. Vary sadly. I’m tempted to take my UCLA admission but I’ll probably just wait and apply to Cal again next year.

@lindyk8 Just one calculus class, I got a 5. I’ll look into it, thank you.

Major: Psychology
Pre reqs: Completed
IGETC: Completed

Extracurriculars: I am a student parent and elaborated about my parenting activities, such as volunteering in my child’s classroom, volunteering as the head coach of my child’s soccer team, and the like. Advice for student parents (if wanted), focus on raising your children. There is no need to put ECs in front of parenting your child/children–my TAP coordinator only reiterated that concept, so take it to heart!

Essays:
Prompt 1: I talked about my passion for psychology and the beneficial results its had on my life.
Prompt 2: Elaborated upon my past and current challenges, explaining exactly how I am dealing with them.

Extra:
Student parent, nontraditional, first generation student that spends most time studying and parenting my children.

I hope this post comes in handy for future students applying to transfer to Berkeley. Persevere and be genuine!

All the best!
