@lovelaurynb
Nope, I applied through OSSI with the help of disability services program. I actually just got another internship, so I’ll definitely try to appeal.
For all who go rejected, the admission rate for transfers went WAY down from 23% last year to 18.2% this year. You are all amazing and will continue to succeed regardless of the university you will attend.
@liveinthelbc Where’d you get those stats from?>
Got into EECS WITH A 3.7 OMG
@liveinthelbc where did you find the stats?

I was preparing for a rejection from Cal since I took a hit to my GPA last semester at a CC (due to a hardship outside of school), and also because I was rejected by UCLA last week. Take that UCLA! And hooray for holistic admissions!! This tells me that Cal looked past my numbers and focused on who I am as a person. Although I’m not sure I would attend (people would probably think I’m crazy) due to the competitiveness that exists at Cal, it feels amazing to be accepted to the No.1 public university in the world!! I have some serious thinking to do before I make my decision.
Side note: Can’t believe UCSC rejected me!! Oh well.
Congrats to the others who got in!!
@lindyk8 I definitely will!
@Ellie64 I’m glad I was able to make you laugh! (:
@HumbleTeen and @Claferla and all other Haas admits! Congratulations! We’ll all meet up sometime.
@lindyk8 Yes I do. Is your daughter thinking of living on or off campus?
ACCEPTED!
I’ll probably end up going to UCLA, but I’m not completely sure yet. Here are my stats:
Major: English, accepted to letters and science

Major GPA: 4.0
Applied: UC Davis, UCLA, Cal, UCSB, Chapman, NYU
Accepted: UC Davis, UCLA, Cal, UCSB, Chapman

EC: lead journalist for a local paper, 3 different jobs, published, staff of my cc’s award winning litmag
Essays: I wrote them the day of, but talked about what being a lead journalist was like and talked about my love for writing and the english language.
ANYWAY, THIS IS SO EXCITING! CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO WAS ADMITTED AND EVERYONE WHO WAS NOT, KEEP PUSHING! YOUR PATH IN LIFE WILL STILL LEAD YOU TO GREAT SUCCESSES AND OPPORTUNITIES!
I am so relieved, thrilled, and proud of my bf for getting a Cal acceptance today. We live in the Bay Area and I was really sad at the thought of him moving to LA. He’s overjoyed. Unless he miraculously gets into Stanford, he’ll be a bear this fall. Congrats to all who heard good news today! Celebrate your amazing achievement!!
@SmartWorker @StaticRoar 2014 stats were up on the UC website and they notified me of the 2015 stats in the FAQs in my rejection letter.
I AM SO EXCITED!!! I GOT IN!!!
“Why was I denied admission when I felt that I was a very strong applicant?
Due to the highly competitive nature of our transfer applicant pool, hundreds of students who had excellent academic and personal credentials were denied admission to Berkeley for fall. For fall 2015, Berkeley received 17,200 transfer applications for about 3,200 admission spaces.”
@jayvid I went to Cal and studied English as one of my majors. I had a great experience. I really like their English dept.
@music1990, We looked at the co-ops but they seem a little sketchy - or at least the really big ones do that you’re put in at first. Although they are a block from where I used to live! (One co-op Cloyne, became substance free last year after meth was being sold there, and people died or something). So now she’s thinking about Wada, Channing-Bowditch, and Martinez (she won’t get Martinez,but it will fill up the five slots). Do you have any suggestions?
OMG I GOT IN ! I GOT IT. I’M NOT DREAMING. IT’S THAT UC BERKELEY !!! :(((
@reygun Is it possible to get rescinded if your spring GPA is below 3.0? I’m only taking one class this semester and I’m borderline between C & B.
@NDN call them first thing Monday morning. When I was admitted you needed to maintain at least a 3.0 in your last semester.
edit also talk to your professor. Tell them a Berkeley admission decision is on the line. Beg for extra credit or something.
