Official UC Irvine Fall 2017 Transfer Applicant Thread

Last saturday was celebrate UCI day, but they have another transfer day on May 5!

@sonali1997 @californiagirl88 Oh wow ok i did not know that, that’s encouraging haha

@californiagirl88 they have a transfer day on May 5th? Is that on their website? I’ve been looking for it everywhere!

@hingoman25 @Vanessatouc it seems many CS that tagged or have a really high GPA got in. Rest seem to be pending, unless someone says otherwise? I’m still waiting for mines too.

I have a TAG with UCI for computer engineering, in good standing. No reject or accept as of yet. Any other computer engineering students out there?

i still havent heard back from UCI

i attended their UCI day on saturday though i think that event was aimed more for freshman… but i think they’re going to make a UCI transfer day now on may

if that saturday event was for transfers, too, i think it’s really messed up. some people only heard back the day before (friday) and to expect them to somehow shift their plans at the last minute to go to UCI for an event is just sad…some people live as far as the bay and would probably drive all the way down just to go. so for that reason, i hope it wasn’t supposed to be a transfer event because not everyone has heard back and some even heard back simply a day before which is just really short notice.

@CompEngrUCI

TAG student on good standing here as well, haven’t heard back yet.

That mean there’s a batch of acceptance letters to be released…from a logical point of view.

The event on Saturday was an open house event, aimed for freshmen and transfers… but I believe it was specifically for freshmen. The designated date for transfers is “Celebrate UCI for Transfers” which is Friday, May 5th. I was admitted last week (4/19) and they sent me the e-mail to RSVP for that specific event.

so are we still aiming for 3pm today for them to come out?

i had a 3.7 with all prereqs complete except for the computer science pre-req

do you guys think its harder to get into ucsd and usb or uci because I was rejected from ucsd and ucsb and I’m still hoping for uci.

@sonali1997 hard to say, it really depends on your major

I got nervous and started to ask about appealing. This is what I got back.

A decision will be made based upon your self
reported application alone.

If you do not like the decision that is released
then within 2 weeks of the decision you can submit
an appeal to selection including a list of
alternate majors for further consideration, etc…
It is only in the selection appeal process where
transcripts and recommendation letters can be
considered.

Anyone get a decision it’s 3

nothing at all

same.

Wow, see you all tomorrow at 3!

I honestly wish UCI would officially tell us specific dates they plan to release decisions, so we dont sit around everyday at 3 am and 3 pm refreshing our browsers for nothing!

on last year’s thread, the last batch of acceptance letters (what we’re waiting for) got released around 5pm…fyi keep your heads up!

Just received my admissions last night at 3 am

TAG
Major: Public Health Policy
GPA: 3.68

Had troubles with my application because I took two statistic courses at my community college and I only receive credit for one of them. I didn’t find out until a couple days ago that it put me under 60 units. I later remembered I didn’t share my AP scores from high school so I emailed all of the schools I applied to with this information and with the exam I passed it put me a 63.33 units. Irvine and Davis were nice enough to be sympathetic and reconsidered my application. UCSD and UCB not so much.
