Over 100,000 applicants…wow discouraging for me considering I was borderline and missing a pre req. Onto UC Davis, go aggies !

I got into Davis and Irvine but I already committed to going to Irvine.
First Post. No news yet. EXTREMELY anxious and discouraged
@IndianCSguy Did they say that there was still a batch of acceptances when you called them out of curiosity? Or is it just waitlist / rejections at this point as its towards the end of May…

Alt major: CS and Engineering (previously Software Engineering)
Applied: UCI, Cal Poly SLO, Cal Poly Pomona, CSUN
Accepted: Cal Poly SLO, Cal Poly Pomona
Pending: UCI, CSUN
GPA: around 3.3 (including some non uc transferable units)
Major GPA: around 3.1?
IGETC: completed
Courses Taken:
- 1.5 years physics
- Linear Algebra + differential Equations
- C++ intro, object oriented C++, swift, Java
Will complete this spring:
- Intro Data Structures
- Machine Language + Assembly
Won’t be able to complete:
- advanced data structures
- machine language + assembly advanced
- Is CS and Engineering, CS and Engineering(ICS) and CS and Engineering(Engr) the exact same major? Because I looked at previous transfer acceptances by major and they are all separated with different acceptance rates. I am confused!
- I am wondering if I should change my Alt major again in case that it may increase my chances Rolf not getting rejected. Should I keep my Alt major as is or switch back to Software Engineering?
- I requested to change my Alt major from Software Engineering to CS and Engineering (ICS) but it was changed to CS and Engineering(without the ICS). Are they the exact same major? Because they look like they are seperate with different amounts of students admitted in each.

Tbh I was expecting a rejection at this point since it was so late in April. I will have to look into whether I want to do the alternate major in Bus Econ.

Question, how do we request to change our major. I want to switch to sociology, so it’s in a different college than the one I’m in now. I don’t see an option on the main portal page. Do I have to SIR first? Or should I just wait until orientation to handle that?
@tausby96 I’d probably just wait until orientation. I don’t think you’ll be able to sign up for classes until mid-summer anyways
@DLoading I hear the Biz School at UCI is stupid competitive and really up there apparently.
@Zygole yeah i heard biz admin is super impacted and very competitive for spots
@Zygole @titleist07 I don’t think ill be able to transfer into bus admin. But there really isn’t a big difference between bus econ and bus admin to employers
