@northbeach yeah, like I said it was just rumors. Some stuff I’ve heard from students at both campuses. Idk maybe they’re trying to make me think positive thoughts haha! I agree that some students have been accepted to both UCLA and CAL, so it’s pretty much in the air. As for the preference, they can see it in the prereqs one has completed. Some UCs have certain types of prereqs, especially if one has applied to more than one UC under different majors. And then the personal statement that asks your major, I guess they would have to write about the major they chose for their school that’s their top choice. If they have the same major in all the UCs they applied too, idk. I think I was just stating that the applicants have preference, but only they know it. lol hope that makes sense.

Good luck to you too!! Can’t wait for Friday to come, it’s going to be one lonnnnng day.

@ wcwei5800 My EC’s are good: law firm intern, hospital volunteer, did lots of things for AGS club, and many other things like that (but nothing too econ related)

For 2009 many 3.6’s got in so I assumed that I had a chance. Now I wish I applied to poli econ instead :(

@bricies, she said she “heard”. Which is actually very credible lol because I’ve heard that too. Argh these last few days could not take any longer

Whoever told you that fed you a load of crock. The only difference perhaps in the admissions process between UCLA and Cal is that UCLA may be more GPA oriented while Cal follows a more holistic approach. One’s admission to either school does not make him or her '“the worst chance” at the other.

At least in my case the prereqs for UCLA in the English major are more extensive than those for Berkeley. For Berkeley I’m missing one class, for UCLA I was missing at least 4 so that could explain why some are getting into Berkeley and not UCLA and vice versa. From a purely evaluative standpoint (I’m a 1 year transfer and although I feel like a guru on how to transfer I dont know the admit rates and such so well) but for freshman admission there seems to be a very very very rough correlation between southern California kids getting into ONLY berkeley and northern California kids getting into ONLY UCLA. Yes, there are TONS of cases that completely defy this, but in the conspiracy case, this is what I’ve seen, and hey, who doesn’t like a little conspiracy to pass the time? btw 3 days!!! crosses fingers and toes

@KarmaGo
so true. haha. you know that the only people believing such a ridiculous “tale” didn’t get accepted to UCLA. let them have their fantasies. haha good luck peeps! CAL 2014
well, hope we all get accepted.

I must say repeatedly hearing the “Yeah bro, Cal doesn’t like intercampus transfers.” here on the forums and from people I tell I applied is rather disheartening. Anyone know the legitimacy of this claim and/or why they don’t?

I can’t wait!! I have practice on Friday from 5-9pm. It’s going to be theeee longesstt 4 hours ever. And then I still have to drive home to get to my computer ahhh
