Official UCI Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

So frustrating… For some reason my screen name was acting up and not allowing me to login, no mater how many electronic devices I tried… so I had to make a new one. (previously sugarbabies3)

Well hubby got accepted yesterday

@Cgs16 I’d call and ask if I were you, they’re usually super helpful and the phone lines are not that clogged

I got a new set of provisions. So i think they are changing them around still.

How about the non-taggers? It seems like the majority people who got accepted have applied a TAG.

@RangoJackson I’m also a CS major, is it bad that I haven’t heard back yet?

@nepusr given that you didn’t tag, no it’s probably not bad. The majority of people who just got accepted were tagged. I’m a CS major as well but haven’t gotten anything back yet either and don’t have tag.

@100789 @Eterion The only reason I thought it wasn’t, is because on assist .org is says that you can get accepted while not completing all the major pre-reqs as opposed to other majors (on assist org) say “preference will be given to those with the highest GPA…” which made me think that they are impacted for those majors.

@forshevchenko Congrats! UCD already sent out acceptances?

@UC4Lyf they didn’t but I TAG them and they already told me in like october that I was accepted.

Accepted! Feels good, I was rejected as a senior in hs under a different major, it’s nice to finally be accepted 2 years later. <:-P

Major: Economics

Accepted
Major: Computer Science
GPA: 3.9

@nepusr
Don’t worry there is still hope. I have a friend who didn’t TAG who also is a CS major although a lower GPA than me hasn’t received a decision yet. We both have taken the same required classes. Also another friend of mine got in though with TAG. So I am guessing the people guaranteed in are being admitted right now and the rest maybe next week?

Hoping they release another batch today starting at 2-ish.

Accepted last night!!!

Major GPA: 4.0

Accepted: UCSB, UCSC

TAG: UCI

Got accepted this morning!
Public health major
3.85 GPA
Tag: No

I’m on the lower end of the totem pole, PSB transfer applicant with 3.3 GPA after the Fall transcript update, 3.4 technically if they care about the AAT degree. That may be kinda low when compared to the average GPA, but it’s only because of grades from 7 years ago… pre sobriety. I got all As after my return in 2014 which is also when I’ve earned most of my units, about 50 units of 4.0 at my school. I’m not bragging and hell it’s far from uncommon on here, just nervous and hopping it works out, so those are my stats. Here are the latest admitted transfers.

econ 3.8 tag cgs16
engl 3.7 tag rangojackson
anthro 3.9 no tag yna1995
econ 3.8 tag passthesushi
compsci 3.9 tag nirvanemesis
psb 3.7 tag cjh101
phs 3.8 no tag donuts

Congrats !

My brain is telling me TAGs get to hear this week and non-TAGs are next Thursday/Friday

I wasn’t TAG  @100789

@BackNSchool83 My stats are basically identical to yours. Bad GPA, 15 year break, then 4.0. So far it’s worked out. No rejections…yet.

@yakattak Me too! Beyond horrible GPA, ten year break, then a 3.9 something (B in a summer science course in the beginning of my return). I mostly applied to Cal states, no rejections yet. UCLA is the only UC I applied to, so I’m rather nervous and not particularly optimistic.

Congrats to you and @BackNSchool83 on the successful returns! Going back after so many years isn’t the easiest thing.
