Official UCSB 2014 Transfer Thread

Pending here. I have heard back from UCI (wait list) UCLA (accepted) UCR (accepted) UCSD (denied) I am only waiting on UCSB and CSUF. Aye.

I am on waitlist for UCI also! @Lacedwithlacey26‌ but I got denied to UCLA

What is your major @babyface11‌ ? I applied to UCI for English (UCLA Gender Studies) and English is my true passion  so I would be pretty excited if I get in and get to study english

Waitlist also for UCI, still waiting on SB

This is really annoying, I thought UCB would be the last one, now seems like UCSB is gonna be the last lol

anyone getting in from yesterday and today’s batch?

Accepted^^

Major: Computer science

Major GPA:4.0
IGETC:yup
Pre-Reqs: all completed
Accepted: UCSD, UCSB, UCI, UCLA, UCD
Rejected: UCB, SJSU, SDSU, Cal Poly Slo

To be honest I was hoping I get accepted to UCB, but I guess 5/6 UCs isn’t bad. Good luck to everyone trying to still get into UCSB.

Accepted.

Major: English

Major GPA:4.0
IGETC: yes
Pre-Reqs: currently attending 2 of my major reqs
Accepted: UCSD, UCD, UCLA, UCB, UCI
Rejected: …

Accepted
Econ/acct major
Gpa: 3.9

I just realized that i did not list one non-transferable course on my uc application. I got an A, but i dont know if not listing it would affect my admission. What should i do now? i am not trying to hide or anything, but i just accidentally forgot.

Notify them asap

Yeah, i will call them on monday, hope they can help me

Still pending…All of my friends have received response from UCSB except me. I TAGed UCSB so I thought it might be the first to notify me the result. But now it is the last one.

Im still waiting too. I take it as a sign that this school is not meant for me and I deserve better than this.

@babyface11 If they do reject me, then I have to call to ask why, because I TAGed SB and judging from credit report from UCD my GPA meets the requirement(I have foreign transcripts,so it brings down my GPA quite a bit). How come UCSB is so slow…

@babyface11‌ Don’t be so pessimistic anyway~ We haven’t got the result yet. If UCSB do reject us, just get over. Admission has so many uncertainties. My friend has 3.95 GPA is placed on the wait list of UCI(Business/Econ). But another girl has only 3.4 GPA was admitted by UCI with BUS/ECON as her second major(her first major is chemistry). So sometime we can’t know what’s going on.

@VWboy1992‌ Take it easy. SB is a little unintelligible these days. I think there will be good news coming for you by the deadline.
Good luck

I got accepted into UCSB and will be attending as a transfer in fall 2014 as a sociology major. I am so unprepared for the big college life because I am coming from Lake Tahoe CC which is tiny and I have my own apartment for cheap. I am so worried about finding a good place to live where I can have some space for my own furniture but also get to meet a lot of people since I will be new to the college. Advice?

@JenaRayne‌ - Congrats!!! I’m a Sociology major too.

Uhm I would use Uloop or Craigslist and weed through there seeing if you can find any people that are good and what you are looking for for roommates.

If you don’t want roommates it’ll get expensive ($1200-$1400 a month with utilities)

Again Congrats and I hope to have you in some of my upper division classes!

man I’ve been waiting forever, it would be frustrating if after all this wait I get rejected

I submitted my grades update 2 days after the application was available why am I referred to the last batch?

Rejected

Major: Computer science
GPA: 3.54
Major GPA:3.7ish
IGETC: Yes
Pre-Reqs: Missing just all the Physics labs
Accepted: UCSD, UCI, SJSU, CSUF, CSUN, SDSU
Rejected: UCSB

I knew it was a longshot with the missing labs for the physics sequence, i should have just taken the classes with the labs, always got on the waitlist by the time my registration for classes were around, oh well, UCSD here i come :).
