**Official UCSD Class of 2015 thread**

@gongho: It’s two courses.

3 classes of writing, they are going to kill me …

I still cannot log on, Jesus Christ …

Sorry guys, it is my typo. It is 2 classes.
The minimum writing requirement is 8,000 words/class per quarter.

^ God forbid…

Oh god Gongho!
I always thought going to College required no work and all I had to do was show up and then I receive a Degree!!!

@gonho

It’s actually two quarters or writing and 2 quarters of ethics and society which is pretty much writing.

^ I knew it! When I read that Warren College Writing was a prerequisite I was like “Oh, so it’s basically more writing.”

I got the call today around 5 PM.
Honestly, I’m really surprised… I didn’t think I would get in.

Stats if you want em:
Test Scores: (that’s the good part! :D)
2300 SAT I
33 ACT
800 SAT II Chemistry
800 SAT II Spanish w/ listening
800 SAT II Math II

3.8 UC weighted GPA
3.6 unweighted
No ELC

13 yrs piano
Minor EC’s … tutoring, OC Parks volunteer, etc.

When I calculated my admissions point totals I always fell a little below the cutoff… still not sure how I got in. Maybe I was too strict on myself…?

Good luck to all!

EDIT: Forgot to mention: I got admitted under mechanical engineering.

@shnethong, It looks like I’m prob not going to get in! :frowning: You have GREAT test scores… me, I’m not much of a test taker. I’m hoping my first gen, low income, and EC will push me a little over the edge. How do you calculate the admission points?

Hmmm… would it count as a hardship if I had to take care of my Grandmother my junior year because he got diabetes, so I had to become the caretaker, and that caused my grades to fall below what I was capable of?

here’s how to calculate your point totals, hope it helps!

I’m not quite sure what the cutoff was for this year, but I’m assuming it’s a bit higher.

I got in!! just got my call.

congrats ! :)

shnethog your scores are WAY higher than mine and like same gpa as me…
Those sat II’s are ridiculous.

For all of you normal people, these were my stats:

3.87 UC GPA
32 ACT
670 math II
670 chem
570 US Hist

So there… I didn’t think I would get in… when I calculated my points total a while ago with the rubric it came out to like 7000. So there is hope for all of you underachievers.

Pinata: how were ur ECs?

Nothing noteworthy, just community service. And I also submitted my app two hours late and wrote ****e essays.

So I haven’t hear anything yet? Is this bad/good/indifferent? My website status is still under review.

everyones status still says its under review

At least yours says under review. Mine won’t even load :stuck_out_tongue:
So. I’m from out of state (Washington), while this may sound silly, would it take longer to receive word from UCSD because of that?

i dont think so, on the other forum people who are out of state said that they got calls from UCSD saying they got accepted. everyone’s decision is supposed to be up on saturday.
