*OFFICIAL* UIUC Class of 2018 discussion

i can’t see the page either :c i just want to check to make sure that i was accepted, as silly as it may sound, cause i saw really quickly a couple hours ago  yay!

If the error page has admitted in the URL you are fine!!

OH thanks…so this is how I find out. Through an error page. How exciting!

So if the error page has “AdmittedChecklist” in the URL, my S is in? Pretty funny! Guess we’ll look at it in a little while.

Unfortunately, denied.
I am an out-of-state student with decent scores.
3.91 WGPA (3.63 UWGPA)
30 Composite ACT
Lots of AP’s

Congrats to all of you who were accepted. These admissions officers has seen potential in you all.
To all who were denied, there is ALWAYS another school that would gladly embrace you and all the skills and traits that you carry with you.

Can someone pleasee confirm with certainty that the “AdmittedChecklist” error means that I’m admitted? It’d mean a lot to me thanks!

Accepted for mechanical engineering, in-state

Yes if you see admitted checklist as it loads you got in. That’s what happened to me

My son was accepted for civil engineering from California!!

@battleflare if you see admitted checklist in the URL, you got in. When mine was taking forever to load earlier, that’s what was in the url and when it finally loaded, I got in.

Finally got in to see the results. Accepted to College of Business!

Denied Mech Eng

30 ACT (28 math 30 science)

3.7 unweighted with 2 APs junior year

Electrical Engineering, accepted

2270 SAT, 4.0 unweighted, 4.4 weighted

Denied, for some reason, Bioengineering… SAT was okay and had a 42 predicted in IB Diploma. Loads of ECs, it was supposed to be a safety… I don’t know what was wrong with my application?

Electrical Engineering, accepted

2210 SAT, 34 ACT, 3.75 UW, school doesn’t weight

Waitlist

My following OP/ED applies to engineering and comp sci only:

I’m looking through this and it appears that people who got 30 ACTs were definitely rejected, 31s were borderline cases, and 32s and above were typically accepted. For SATs, it seems like 2150 was a borderline score and anything above was accepted and anything below was denied or offered alternate major. It seems that UIUC got even more competitive this year.

^That is definitely true, at least for oos students. I feel as though that being in state allowed the admissions to admit students from a wider range.

Agreed, I’m also speaking for the people from my school who’s decisions and stats I know, and I come from an international school in Hong Kong.

No one was probably expecting the high selectivity, I believe the high selectivity in the engineering department resulted from the huge amount of applicants applying. http://engineering.illinois.edu/news/article/7450
