College:
GPA 3.62 - Honors Program

I also wrote a pretty good essay.

I was just accepted as a junior transfer.

College GPA 3.78

I am also looking for off campus housing/roommates (preferably people who are social and enjoy going out frequently). Send me a message if you are interested.

Hey buddy,
I’m new to these postings, but I got the same email!

I really want to live on campus. Is oncampus housing easy to get for transfers who are going to be sophomores?

Hey guys, I’m new to this post, but I have followed the last two year’s worth from time to time.

I’m in the unenviable boat that many of your are: my application is still under review…

And to everyone who has been accepted, a tip-o-the hat to ya. Congratulations.

Snog:

One of those is JUST tuition, the other includes the room and board and “other stuff” they factor in that make up your cost of attendance.

UVA, William & Mary, and Lehigh (I kind of took a chance only applying to these schools, but thankfully I got in somewhere lol)
Accepted to Lehigh and UNC so far. My decision will be firstly based on $$$

I don’t understand why I wasn’t at least waitlisted.

barnaby, what were your stats like? Did you apply as a sophomore or junior?

Junior, applying as Mathematics, in-state, 23 years old. I had a ton of As from community college, over 20 of them, especially in math and science. Last year at a university I was in a crappy film program, and left after a few quarters with 5 Fs. I explained in my essay about how uncomfortable I was there, and why I felt UNC would be a better fit. Overall my GPA was probably about 3.21, with at least a 3.8 in my pre-Mathematics Major courses. I did volunteer tutoring, was in Phi Theta Kappa, Math and Engineering clubs, and took Honors classes at CC. I was missing Foreign Language, but I read that wasn’t required for admission. High School was dismal and something I’d rather forget, but I left with under a 1.0, but got a GED in 2005. Hopefully that wouldn’t matter to UNC since it was ages ago and I’m a Junior.

Now I am lost. I have nowhere else to go, so I have to just stick it out another year in community college. I’ve been doing this crap since 2007, I just want to move on.

Hey guys! I’ve been lurking this thread for awhile now, but I figured I’d say hello to some of my future classmates! Accepted as a junior transfer in journalism. I’m still in shock. I can’t wait for next year!

I recently found out Carolina does not give transfer students any kind of academic scholarships… That could be a determining factor.

Accepted, OOS community college student, Mathematics Education major, 3.84 overall. 4.0 in pre-Mathematics. I am blown away I thought it was a reach and was banking on UVA through their Guaranteed Admission Agreement. Nice to have choices, plus I’ve been worried about actually getting in to UVA GAA or not.

So, I submitted all the Financial Aid info back in February and I am not sure how to see my FA award. I have a laptop grant in my General to do list, but I can’t figure out where to look for the FA package.

Where is it in your myUNC?

Hey people join my facebook group for accepted transfer students. I couldn’t post a link here.

My daughter was accepted as a sophomore transfer from Elon and may be interested in the room. Is it still available. How can she contact you?

Yeah, but theres always fastweb.com if you need some money! I’m waiting on the fin aid too…which will probably take longer because I just submitted that profile yesterday.

I thought i’d share my stats to give you guys a better idea.
Congrats on everyone else who was accepted!
I am still waiting to hear from a few other colleges, but I may just end up in Chapel Hill!

for those who weren’t, we all don’t know what admission committes look for,
so maybe some other colleges will accept your application! I was rejected by UIUC, too.

Guys, financial aid sent me an e-mail requesting additional documents. I mailed them out this morning but there weren’t any 8x11 envelopes at the post office so I had to send them out in a 6x9 envelope and fold them in half.

Do you think this will reflect poorly on me when they review the documents?

Figured I should post stats…
Accepted, International, No FA.
Junior, Chemistry major
From a CC in MD.

HS GPA: 3.4, W 4.2.
College GPA: 3.8
ACT:31

2 Honors programs, not many ECs… but I was very involved in the ones that i did do.
Really good recommendations from my Honors Orgo prof, and interdisciplinary honor’s program coordinator who taught the honors seminar.

My essay was very specific on what I want to study and what I want to do with it. I also included another essay that I wrote about my diverse background and how it inspires me to learn more languages and learn more in general… I really liked it
I worked on them tirelessly.

I’m still not sure if I’m going since I am waiting to hear back from a few more places that I liker better. So if I end up not going, I hope my spot goes to people on the wait list!

i was accepted also…im trying to get a place off campus if anyone is interested
