Official UNC Transfer Thread Fall 2011

@surfwakesnow if i decide to go to chapel hill i think id definitely rush a sorority

I’m thinking about rushing, though I’m not sure if I will since I’m coming in as a junior.

Just got an email from UNC.
It’s an invitation to the Transfer Students Welcome Reception.
It also mentions the Transfer United housing.

I got in but I probably will not go. I just applied as a backup.

I didn’t get an email. :/

I did, however, get a big blue envelope in the mail today. :)

What’s up guys/girls, congrats to everyone else who got in. I’m currently at an out of state school now and have no access to the official admission package that UNC probably sent. That being said I’m wondering what the deadlines are for accepting/rejecting their offer… any other important deadlines…etc. If anyone here could tell me what those are i’d appreciate it. And again, congratulations everyone who got it, those who didn’t don’t worry about it, it’s not the end of the world at all.

^May 13 is the deadline to enroll. That’s the only important date I know.

Does anyone know when the soonest is that we can begin registering for classes?

3.86 GPA international
honors program, PTK, tons of leaderships and volunteering, great recommendations, good essays, 7.5 on ielts(which is even above “competitive”), and I am still only on the waiting list…

how big is my chance to get in?..I feel like I don’t believe in myself anymore…

I don’t want to discourage you, but in the past 2 years UNC has not taken anyone off the wait list :/. This year I hope that it is different, but it is likely that they will not.

is there anything I can do to increase my chance of being taken off from the waitlist? I seriously thought that I would get in for sure…

I got the email too, no big envelope yet! I don’t think I’d be rushing for any sorority! good luck to those who do! I wish I wasn’t out of state, I want to go to the reception! And check out the dorm rooms! and I want to know more about this transfer united program!

laypk123- I was reading another post about being waitlisited, and a girl posted this website and said she did what it said and got off it. take this with a grain of salt i suppsoe, but anything helps!

Where are you going displayedname?

I’m still not sure what I’m doing yet. I’m not desperate to transfer but I think I’d like to; however, I need to know what I will and won’t get credit for. It isn’t worth it to me if I lose too many credits.

I didn’t get the email and I most likely won’t be getting the big envelope in the mail anytime soon since my house got hit by a tornado. :/

Seriously 3.86 and you’re waitlisted? How hard can it be to get into a public school for pikessake?

I know, it is really hard to believe… I am not trying to say some people who got in are not qualified, I believe they all do. But I just can’t stop thinking why I am not…

Got my big envelope!!!

I didn’t get an email and am still waiting to find out about my big envelope since it is going to my dad’s house in PA. I’m currently in D.C., but he promised to tell me as soon as it comes and email me all the info.

What kind of good stuff is in there?

well my mom got it but i had her open it and she said its just lots of info about the school and a list of what to do now. there was nothing about credit transfer but it said that will be emailed to us soon.

I just got accepted on Friday- anyone else looking for a roommate and willing to live somewhere other than Granville?
