***Official University of Michigan Class of 2015 Decisions Thread***

congrats kdos, mikey & americanslang!! :)

Anyway, I suspect COE applicants will be the last to be notified since almost all notifications on CC appear to be from LSA applicants. (Although I do understand that CC is not a good representation of UMichigan Applicants for FALL 2011)

I really hope I get in come April! Supposedly I got the “good” deferral letter (they don’t mention sending a midyear report) so we’ll see what happens!

Jorabamama, congrats to you and your daughter. You must be so happy! I just got back from visiting my daughter, who is a junior at UM. Some of her friends are tour guides for Campus Day, and they told me that Campus Day is scheduled to run throught the middle of April. Ypu have mentioned several times that CD is only through March. My nephew is waiting to hear about his acceptance to UM and is trying to figure out if he will be able to attend CD. Where did you hear that Campus Day ends in March? UM seems to be very skilled lately in providing conflicting into, so I am just trying to figure help my nephew figure out timing, since he is hoping to stay with my daughter should he be accepted.

^Thank you so much Bayley, we are very excited! I just went on the U of M website to copy/paste the dates for LSA for Campus Day visits, and it appears they stretched it out into April since I spoke with them! Good news, I guess, for those who really do have to wait until April, but not so good for making me think they really won’t make the kids wait. I spoke with them about the issue on January 26, and at that time they said they would not be able to attend if they were RD. Another person on this thread was told the same thing after I was. I’m happy they added dates for everyone, but kinda sad too cause maybe now some of these kids will really wait till April :frowning: May I ask where your daughter dorms and if she has any suggestions for incoming Freshman?

whatislove, OMGMIT, goblue15 and all the rest of you waiting! I’m feeling it for you today! I’m going to wear my U of M hoody to work today for good luck for all of you!

I paged back like 10 pages trying to find the other person who was told by Admissions that RD kids could not attend Campus Days and couldn’t find them. They were told that Campus Days were only intended for EA kids. I want to make sure they see the last post that they do in fact have days through April! If anyone remembers who that was, please help me update them! Thanks!

jorabamama, thank you soooo much for all the support and hope you have given me and the rest of the deffered applicants on this thread. It really makes me feel good inside that someone else believes that I can get accepted. Well, this was around the time I got that deffered email from Michigan last Friday…I’ll keep you guys posted.

You bet! It’s crazy cause I know nothing about you all, don’t even know if your male or female, hahaha. But I feel connected to you and am rooting for you so hard! I think it’s just all the emotion I know you all are going through having been through it with my d, including the heartbreak of getting rejected from NU. I just can’t wait to see a big ACCEPTED behind all your names!

Thank you for your support jorabamama, I really appreciate it. I hope we all will hear the good news today, or at least soon. :)

Thank you very much for your support jorabamama!!

Assurances from parents like you make us really believe that we can make it to UM and achieve great things!

Thanks again & I am really praying for acceptance mails for me and other fellow deferred friends here at CC!

Go blue!! :)

Jorabamama, like your dauighter, my D too was applied ED to another school (Yale) and was rejected. But now that she is at UM she can’t imagine going anywhere else. She loves it! Plus, she received a partial merit scholarship after she accepted, which was totally unexpected, since we are OOS, which made it that much better. She currently lives in an apartment, as many juniors do. Freshman year she lived in Markley, which in on Hill. The rooms are very small but she loved it anyway as it is one of the more social dorms. It also has it’s own dining hall, which is nice, especially on those cold Michigan days. You cannot request a specific dorm, only a specific area i.e. Hill, Central, North campus, etc. North Campus (Baits, Bursley, Northwood) are usually the least desirable for freshmen, since they are further from main campus, and most kids who get assigned there try to transfer out. It’s not really walking distance to Central, but there are buses.

^ Great information to have! Thanks! I thought she could chose an actual dorm, so much to learn :)

Looks like this list is full of excited UMich applicants. Congratulations to all of you who have made it in, and to those waiting I wish you all the best. Found out last night D got accepted to UMich, but may not accept; she has been accepted at USC with a Dean’s Scholarship and doesn’t appear UMich offers any merit scholarship. Anyone know? May make a difference since D will be OOS. Thanks all…

Yes they do offer merit scholarships, look up two posts from bayley, she is also out of state. Good luck! And I read they merit scholarships come out mid March, not sure if that’s correct.

As you know University of Michigan Admissions likes being inaccurate about the dates. If they say mid-March, it can either be now, three months ago or 2015. :D

^hahahahaha

Do you think they will be sending more decisions today? I just checked the time of my EA deferral email and it was one hour ago. Can we consider today over?

I think we should consider today over. We could always get it tomorrow
But…you never know.

But I wore the lucky sweatshirt :(
