Official US November SAT Discussion II (Test with Negative Campaigns)

futball ) I think the answer is petrified since she mumbled all the time and was filled with joy

–> in other words she was shocked - petrified

I put jubilant, but now that I think about it, agitated seems more correct…

Equilateral WXYZ. WX = XY. YZ = WZ. which angles are equal…? Did not get this at all. Tried making an educated guess haha.

< x and <z always

If I remember correctly, I drew a picture of a diamond shape for that question. I think I was z and x that were equal angles.

nope -it’s agitated. Look at the exact quote from the book. It said in a lather of excited anxiety. If you look up the definition of lather it actually says “an agitated state.” The only other thing it says is that she continued twittering. None of that indicates she was petrified. It is clearly agitated.

Why is it reserved and not careful?

I put suitability … Her various character traits made her suitable. Correct me if I’m wrong.

No one remembers mercurial? I had a math experimental and I got mercurial.

Me neither nafise lol. I just put X and Y or X and Z (i think X and Z)

I found the Zora article: http://www.amazon.com/Zora-Neale-Hurston-Life-Letters/dp/0385490364#reader_0385490364</a> page 16, CB skipped 17, continued some on 18

I think it’s preference still after re-reading.

I remember a question. Why did she want to know the principal? She though personal connections was as important as educational ones or something.

@ClassicLays I answered that as well for that question.

Do you guys remember the question to the choice: she thought material goods were less important than personal relations?

Did anyone get these questions for math:

slope of R and S going through the quadrants.
quad. WXYZ and which of the angles are congruent.
Ratio of flour to sugar and baking a cake.

i know i got math experimental cuz i had 4 math sections. Was this the experimental tho?

It’s petrified if you look in the passage Eliza clearly is scared of the mothers reaction she says ‘what is your mother gonna say?’ At the beginning of the passage we clearly see that the mother and daughter don’t get along and fight, so the friend would obviously be scared of her friends mothers reaction

It’s agitated homie. If you’re petrified, you’re horrified to the point you can’t speak. Eliza was described as incredibly anxious and all she could say was “What is your mother going to say?” over and over.

@sportsfan
i think rs was different? the one with 4 as a slope and x, z were congruent
the last math question was your exp.

do any of you guys remember any writing questions?

Agitated means excited; disturbed. Now when is she ever disturbed? And why would she be excited about her friend and mother who obviously don’t get along? She keeps saying that cause she’s petrified of her mothers reaction

writing questions
like other flightless birds, penguins have lost their ability to fly because they evolved in absence of predators (or something to that extent)
the paintings she selected for her art show were more varied than those of her last show [and so gave] her critics are better idea of her artistic skills

Rlaxodn
the cake question was in the same section as R and S slope

SirDan, cool means able to conceal emotion and lacking in enthusiasm. Reserved means restrained, and avoiding intimacy. Comparing in context, reserved and cool are the most similar. Careful COULD work in the context given, but reserved is the more articulate choice, as it is less general.

Flightless birds question: no error

Paintings question: and so gave is wrong, I believe it should be either giving or thus giving
