Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

I feel you. I was accepted last year to critical studies, but was unable to go. I’m hoping to get accepted again this year.

@kin1662 yes I submitted FAFSA plus all the required forms.
@alaintran9 yeah, I really don’t understand & I thought about appealing but I’m pretty sure that even on appeal they’d only give me slightly more & I needed a really substantial award to attend. wishing you the best of luck with yours!
@sierrag95 got accepted may 8th, my fin aid award got posted may 14th

I wasn’t really expecting to get into USC to begin with, but I did not foresee getting rejected by so many state schools lol. Since I’m probably looking at applying elsewhere next year I’ve already registered for summer and fall classes in Seattle, so it will be super ironic if I actually get in and end up with like a 1 day gap between when summer classes end here and fall ones start in L.A.

You will be very surprised. USC is a unique school and wants a certain type of student. If you fit your particular program then you could get in. Never give up hope!

@sandiego Did you also fill out the CSS profile?

Hey, so I just checked my usconnect and the page has shifted since I last checked. Now it has boxes for “Enrollment Commitment Deposit,” “Fall Admits: Connect with your future classmates,” and “Spring Admits: Connect with your future classmates.” But when I click on my application status check, nothing has changed. Does anyone know what this means or has anyone experienced this also?
Also, I’ve applied to Dornsife if anyone was wondering.

Congrats Nomadguy! Looks like you’re in!

Dornsife hopeful still crossing my fingers…

Does anyone have roughly any idea how much financial aid is available if we have just applied ??

@tomred I got my SGR on April 26th/27th, sent them on May 7th, and I still haven’t heard back. I’ll keep you posted! I was looking through last year’s decisions thread and some people heard back after 3 days, and some people after a month or longer! Sigh.

Congrats NomadGuy! I’ve been curious, do you actually receive an email when there is a status change to your USC connect?

Thanks! But I’m still skeptical since I didn’t get any email (Answering your question Aelan15) and my status on my “Application Status Check” still says that I’m under review. However, these boxes popping up are making me think otherwise. I don’t want to get my hopes up that these boxes are indication that I’ve been accepted.

@aelan no. Your enrollment commitment deposit comes up then you get the package in the mail

Anyone from Annenberg receive acceptances?

@alaintran9 I did submit the CSS as well

@sandiegosand if you don’t mind me asking what is your gross adjusted family income?

@NomadGuy, Fahman ISS, thanks for the quick response.

@ajmy, gosh. I have a feeling it will most likely be after June 1st for us. How were your spring grades? Good luck btw.

I am a Marshall transfer applicant. I have not received any word from them at all. Are there still Marshall applicants that haven’t received a decision?

@tomred I know…I am praying that we hear back soon. I really don’t want to be one of those people who heard back in late June or July. They were better than I expected, actually. I ended up with a 3.88, which is an upward trend from last semester’s 3.48. Not sure what my transfer GPA looks like though. Thank you, you too! Us SGR-ers have to stick together!

Us non-SGR’ers must stick together EVEN MORE then. That’s right. We might be underperforming rejection letters-in-waiting or overachieving junior-level students, but we will stick together until we are all Trojans… or we are rejected and forced to sell our bodies to make ends meet.

Or worse… go to, gulp, a state school.
