There were issues with my upload as well, when YT decided to take it down after being on the site for three years!! Had to re-upload to Vimeo and notify SCA.

Yikes! Music license issue? I just used some old Alan Lomax recording. Some mighty fine a pickin’ and a singin’

I’m having a minor panic attack from reading all the people who got acceptances already! Anyways quick question, if you are missing GE classes from 2 categories from the transfer GE guide, do you still have a chance of getting in? or are you done for basically… ?

Yep exactly. Which was ridiculous since I had written permission to use it. But YT has become somewhat of a balloon in recent year(s). They’re to enlarged to recognize the little guy anymore. The song you chose was awesome by the way.

@joojenny from my understanding, the GE guide is merely a guide and is not a requirement for you to have every single course fulfilled. I believe they expect you to have completed English Comp and a College level math course however.

@joojenny
I too was missing GE from 2 categories as well and I got accepted.
I also previously emailed admissions about it and they told me that all they require is college algebra and 2 english courses. But the more GE’s you finish at your CC the less you have to do at USC

@sethalexander: cinematography reel? Good work! Is USC strict on it being a video with narrative structure though?

Accepted today guys, SCA film and television production…literally couldn’t be happier! hang in there all of you who haven’t heard back yet! I got an SGR in late April, literally just sent my grades this morning (via overnight mail) but I guess they decided they didn’t need my spring grades after all because the acceptance package was dated on May 16th! today was a good day, best of luck to everybody

Anyone got accepted with Econ major ??

Congrats scorchinscotsman!! What were your stats?

@dpayan7

Yes.

Not much of a cinematography reel as there are no dramatic scenes to reveal content, and especially because it draws attention to itself. Following my supplements, it’s a collection of aesthetic and profound interest as a visual sample. I’m not trying to fool myself, so I have “Photographed by”, because (objectively) it’s pretty pictures put to music.

But we’ll see where that gets me!

“Cschropp24, as I mentioned it seemed forced.”

@xthaiboxer

Ew, rude. They are simply being helpful by promoting an organized page for transfers to list their stats.

Just hit the phase where i am wondering about whether they received all my letters of rec/etc. when i know i sent them. Then wondering if i sent the wrong cinematic arts statement/personal essay when I KNOW what i submitted were correct. I swear i am stressing more than last year. I was good till now. Pray for me lol. I am preparing for the worst.

@nokcha1004 i have exactly the same question! it seems that very few econ accepted up to now. i just hope that decision has not made yet and i am theoretically not rejected yet.

@jrenee

Lighten up. The stress is getting to you.

@dpayan7 thanks so much!

I had a 4.0 gpa at UT Austin as a Film/Journalism double major…i got two A minuses this semester however to get a 3.9 for the Spring (i took 18 units) so whatever that is cumulatively…

I had a 4.2 in high school, played football there, did film classes at community college, worked at the school TV station, made shorts and what not…

In college I volunteered at an elementary school as a mentor and helped put on a production of The Lion King…I also worked at Texas Student Television where I was a cameraman for a film trivia show…

Extremely nice letters of rec (4) including one from a key grip in the industry…worked pretty hard on my essays and video sample and was proud of them. I also included my SAT score (2070) by listing it unofficially.

Also, I don’t know if this helps, but I’ve made a feature film (roughly 65 minutes) and am halfway through production on my second feature, both of which were listed in my creative portfolio…I also made a music video for a local Austin, TX band while there…I think that’s it!

Another day I guess…

Those stats are amazing! How old are you if I may ask? And what made you want to leave UT?? I wanted to go there !

Anyone applied to the engineering department heard back from USC yet?

hello guys! Congrats to all accepted applicants!

Any Thornton School applicants hear their decision? Thanks!
