But u gotta remember that out of around the 800 who apply to annenberg they accept only around 75 students. That is fact coming from when i met with an asistant director of annenberg admissions. Not very many. And the 75 has probably dropped down to around 60 after him telling me that they had a more than normal amount of internal transfers this year which caused a decrease in the number of acceptances they can offer tranfers. He also said that about half of the applicants have not completed all general ed requirements and they usually reject those right away which really breaks it down to about 60/400. English grades are a high priority for them as well.

That is strictly only about Annenberg though.

How many of you are applying for communication major?

@hepburn95 I’ve tried many times with my birthday as my password but I still cannot log in. What’s going on? This really worries me!!!

Any animation or fine arts majors get in or have heard anything ?

Yesturday I had writ 140 in cart with red error now I have 2 writ 140 in cart with red error, anyone know what this means

@Surhov818 From what I’ve heard, this is just a bug in the system. It doesn’t mean anything.

@SCstang No, I’ve heard that it just depends on the professor that reviews your application. Some of them prefer to conduct interviews either through Skype or over the phone, and some do it for every applicant they review or only the ones they are already preferring to recommend. There are numerous people who have gotten in without an interview or any contact from SCA till they got their acceptance. So, I wouldn’t let it bother you.

What does SGR really mean?! (like does it mean I’m in as long as I keep my grades perfect?) I wish someone who got a SGR from previous years would share their experiences with us.
I received my SGR last friday and saw it today. I didn’t think I was going to get a SGR at all since my gpa is low for Marshall. This wait is killing me!

@kjemchen basically means they need more information about you before they make a decision. Could be for any number of “real” reasons. Likely, they want to see how well you maintain or exceed your current performance… The way I see it is that SGRed people are “potential” admits who might or might not be a good fit depending on the performance of other applicants weighed against your spring performance.

@goforusc12 for CCC, those are agreements between USC and the CC and they WILL transfer. If your college is not under the CCC articulations then you can get an idea of what courses have transferred to USC in the past from the college you are currently attending using the “past articulations” page. It is not a guarantee that the course will transfer or not transfer; USC will figure that part out.

oh and the usc packet didn’t include and financial aid info
the website says its still under review even though I got the acceptance
It better come soon!

@whosnext @JR2013 Thanks for all the info! Stressful but still good to know.
I applied as a communications major!

@paulhe There are no //// in between the numbers, if that helps. Otherwise, you may just not be able to login right now. Don’t let that worry you, several other people cannot log in, and many people from last year that were accepted could not login for a long time.

Has anyone on the transfer plan heard back yet?

Jeez only 60 applicants for transfers for the Annenberg department. Talk about competitive. I’m one of the transfers applying as a junior so hopefully I hear some good news. At least I’m one of those who completed the GE’s requirements.

Has anyone else who has applied for Dornsife (Sociology) not received an admission decision or SGR yet?

@MPCCBT on the same page as you dude…I’m a sociology major as well yet haven’t heard crap back from usc yet. But my gpa is only 3.2-3.4 so maybe that may be the problem…but I thought USC was holistic?..so much for that smh…

@kyle2015 I’m soo anxious to hear back! haha I mean sociology is known to be one of the easiest majors in terms of acceptance so that 3.2-3.4 might pull it off! USC is also huge on EC’s and admitting well rounded students, therefore GPA isn’t the only aspect. Good luck to you though!

@MPCCBT lol dude my EC’s aren’t that great. But I do have great essays with 3 excellent letters of recommendation. So I hope that’s enough. I’m currently on the waitlist for ucsd but if I get into USC…I couldn’t care less for ucsd haha. Only if I can get into USC though…
