Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@dramaticart @xsayax I just checked mine and its filled out too!!! Thanks xsayax i looked at your comment and that made me look XP…it says current year: freshman…what does that mean…does that mean im going in as a sophomore or starting over

Hello, i am someone’s Mom that has been reading this thread for weeks now. I can’t hold myself back any longer from commenting. You all are making yourself crazy with your speculation about the USC admissions process. I started to believe that there was some meaning to this oasis report. I spoke to admissions in order to comfort myself from the anxiety I got from reading this most addictive CC thread. My son is waiting on a decision also. He is a theater applicant who doesn’t know whether to put a deposit on his UC of choice by June 1. So this is what I learned. I hope this alleviates some of your anxiety I know you are feeling. Not everyone can log onto Oasis. It is for financial aid pre admitted or students already in USC. Counselors do not take calls on their lines, you can only email them and perhaps they will answer with an email or call you. They do not give decisions on the telephone otherwise they would have 50,000 kids calling annually. They give all final decisions by June 3rd, these include acceptances and rejections. My son was strongly encouraged to check usconnect regularly over the next few days. My speculation now…
Early decisions for transfers are for international students primarily because their tuition is higher or students with exceptional talent they don’t want to lose. Or possibly some of these students are not students (blogging psychos) and are playing with your minds. All of you putting yourself down, please don’t be so hard on yourself. You all have great futures with or without USC. Take a few deep breaths, it’s not over if you don’t get in and the other positive is that there are acceptance packages in the mail right now and up until June 3rd. Stop already with this Oasis sanity. Give it a break and think about what your plan is if you don’t get into USC.

@nemrac22 I agree that some people are making themselves go crazy with their theories. However, Oasis can give you indication if you’ve been accepted or not. The only valid method is if your STARS report is pre-filled. The others are just theories and people being negative about themselves. I will say that all the speculation does make time go by faster :))

They did give you a bold face lie, though… They will NOT give out all final decisions by June 3rd. Some people will have to wait until July.

@Nemrac22 – Thank you for that, I appreciate the great discussion but these Oasis discussions are just tiring at this point…

@Nemrac22‌ @Ngarcia3‌ Well I really hope you guys prove me wrong. This wait is killing me :(( .

@Ngarcia3‌ excuse me no lie, my bad, I meant non SGR’s for June 3, your correct, sorry for that. I think for those who can or cannot sign on to Oasis it is futile to speculate and as @ bballprofessor23 says tiring ,your welcome.

@marshallbound Dont worry, you will be MarshallBound before you know it. And to answer your question, your restrictions can update multiple times before you get an acceptance/rejection. So dont look into that… Its almost over!

@Marshal‌Bound, I know it’s killing me to think of forfeiting $100 deposit for UC and my sons disappointment if he doesn’t get in. What if you don’t? What other wonderful things are possible on the horizon?

@nemrac22 That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification

@Nemrac22‌ I’m in the same position, but my deposit is $300, and I really can’t justify paying for that when I am still rooting for an acceptance from USC.

@MarshallBound‌ is deposit due June 1? At some point isn’t it a wise investment as a backup? We can’t put all our eggs in one basket.

Delete

My restrictions were updated to today’s date, and now the formatting is different. It’s a box that says “Undergraduate Conditions of Admission.” Does anyone else have this? I got a SGR on May 10th and haven’t sent in my grades yet.

UPDATE: My SIAR is filled out… I haven’t sent in my spring grades… how is this possible??

@Nemrac22‌ Yes. The deposit is due June 1. However, I am going to give myself until May 31st at 9PM to submit the deposit. Hopefully there won’t be any technical server problems.

@hepburn95 it looks like if you meet the conditions of admission you will get in. I cant remember the exact conditions but I think it may be a 3.5 or above.

@MarshallBound‌ plan on that your in. My son has excellent grades, great reco letters, audtiion and resume, wonderful essays but there has to be that spot open to him. We pay the deposit. When I asked Usc about what we should do, could we just know if he was rejected! they said they don’t recommend people putting deposits on other schools. Well, of course they don’t. Waiting game, I have no Nails left and it’s torture.

@hepburn95 That is awesome! Now you don’t have to worry about your slow professors lol. Basically looks like they were confident enough in you that they have put it in your hands with your GPA to seal the deal.

Ok, so now you annoy the crap out of your professors to send in the grades! Hahaha

@Nemrac22 I really hope your son gets in!!! I am also a theater major and I checked my STARS report today and it was all filled out with the major and everything. Have you checked that part of the Oasis? It might have been updated recently; there was a theater major that wrote on here that had their account updated yesterday…mine was updated today…so it could have changed or will change tomorrow. Hope that helped and again I wish your son the best of luck!!!

@Nemrac22‌ Well this entire month was absolutely agonizing for me. Even my trip to Vegas was ruined because I was constantly thinking about USC.

@Nemrac22‌ @MarshallBound‌ I seem to recall that others on this thread were able to get an extension approved for deposit payment to UC. Of course there is no guarantee and this info is secondhand, but I think it is worth a shot. If you’re so inclined, call UC admissions and say you want to file SIR but have a cashflow issue and need another couple of weeks. I bet they will oblige.
