Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

Guys I’m starting to DEFINITELY think ( and this has been said before) that if your restrictions is updated and your Stars IAR is not filled out 1-2 days later it may not be the best sign. I think for so long we have been trying to figure out what updated restrictions, but no filled out IAR means, and I think it correlates with a rejection. Again, not stating this as a fact, but it seems like it could possibly be true. But you never know USC and having faith works in mysterious ways …so keep on fighting on! What do you guys think?

@almxy45‌ agh sorry to hear that. Good luck!

@scahopeful Yeah I know, but in that persons case it was the first time they accessed it and someone else was telling them that the prepared date was a bad sign! So I didn’t want them to worry :)

I just checked the IAR and I have one more course that was added ‘EE 450’. I’m guessing this means nothing?

@bobo79 I do too

@bobo79 Exactly

Don’t be Gabby. Yes, the rejection is an disappointment but sometimes things in life just don’t turn out the way you want to. I also just submitted my three page appeal letter but hey, if I don’t get in after the appeal… I will try again next year. Besides, I have the opportunity to attend the best university in the state of Michigan. And like I said, plenty of other amazing colleges out there. Or I might just attend community college in cali and try to transfer again. Honestly though, I am feeling really good about the appeals letter I wrote. I still have an chance :)

@almxy45‌ That’s such a great way to look at it! Obviously with that attitude you are going to do great things wherever you decide to go! Be sure to keep us updated on the appeal (:

How and who do we contact to figure out why we got rejected? Like detailed reasoning.

@fadumbear‌ They will probably just give you a very generic response. e.g. “Unfortunately we just had too many qualified applicants this year and are unable to offer all of them a place at USC”

ACCEPTED :v: Will post stats soon:) thanks for all the advice guys! Good luck to you all and Fight on!

In my course cart, I have an Electrical Engineering course…
I applied as Environmental Science and Health

@anyabel We have said multiple times that your course cart does not matter. Have you been keeping up with the thread? There’s a lot of useful (and I’ll admit, redundant) information in the last 150 pages if people would like to take the time out to read them.

Emailed my counselor today, hoping to hear as to why I haven’t heard back yet (haven’t been sgr’d) or to get a decision in the mail. This waiting is the worst.

@Rusartist‌ So from your last post you said your restrictions wasn’t updated right? When was it last updated? What about your oasis?

@SCGirl101 Did you get an sgr? What were your spring grades? and how long ago did you send in your grades? Sorry about all the questions!

@marshallbound Restrictions still updated January 2014, and I’m not sure what you mean by oasis as the restrictions and iar are both on oasis. Neither have been updated.

@Rusartist‌ There should be tabs like account restrictions, Stars Interactive Report, Stars Report. If you are saying the account restrictions is still dated back in January, then I would say it is a good sign. The Stars Interactive Report updates when you first log in. It has the date saying Prepared, and the date you logged in should be when it was prepared.

@marshallbound: right. I’m hoping it’s a good sign too. Stars interactive report still shows the same date from when I first logged in as well. Hopefully I’ll hear from my counselor soon. Until then I stalk the mail man and obsessively check usconnect

Well got a phone call from USC today. They were confused about a required course, but bythe time I called back, they figured it out. She said I should hear my decision by early next week and to expect a packet in the mail around Monday or Tuesday. fingers crossed
