@HopeForMarshall Purgatory describes it pretty well.

@anyabel-- Hell yeah! Finals are so brutal…

As for your question, I don’t think it’s honestly worth mentioning, but that said, it definitely can’t hurt you in any way. I think their judgement will come fully from your Spring Grades, though.

@USCTransfer28-- What college are you transferring from?

SGRed late April! Got accepted yesterday!!

@jkahoes Congtrats! When did u send in your spring grades?

@5nonnegotiables Thank you! And honestly pretty recently! I came from multiple community colleges in my district so I had to wait on one college until last week to finish! All my grades literally went in less than a week ago!

@jkahoes wow that is quick…I’m sure such a relief not to be waiting anymore. Awesome! I turned in my grades at the end of may, from SBCC… And the wait is killing me. Are you a jr and what’s your major?

@5nonnegotiables It was quick! I’m not sure what the average wait was, but they had a little break between receiving one of my transcripts from one school and another.

I will be an incoming junior and I’m a business administration major!

My stats are over here!

@jkahoes wow really great!

@bballprofessor23 Bryant University

edit.

Got SGR’d a week ago.
The wait is killing me.
Does anyone know about viterbi transfer admits?

@jkahoes after you were SRG’d, how did you find out you were accepted? Email, Oasis, connect, or waited for your package via mail? Congrats and hope you absolutely love USC!

SGRs:

Spoke to a counselor earlier and confirmed my original hunches regarding the purpose of an SGR if one, 4.0, could still get rejected. The counselor said that they ask for them because they want to see how you performed in the spring (of course). And when asked specifically why they reject 4.0’s the counselor said that when they receive spring grades, they also:
a) verify that you completed any required pre req’s for your program that you listed on Common App (by checking for W’s)
b) check for any other W’s (because you can list something on Common App and withdraw much later after your app is already under review)
c) see if you completed any USC Core GE’s and the grades you received (goes back to the W situation)
d) make sure your courses aren’t cake walks (to do this, they have to search your current school’s course catalog and look at course descriptions and sometimes syllabi if available)

So, if a high GPA gets rejected it’s probably for one of those reasons.

We were just talking about one of my Spring courses when we got into this informative conversation about SGRs.

Really have to appreciate how much time/effort USC puts into looking over our apps. Even if the long wait is painful.

@gabbyrrr-- Agreed, if the factors listed above for the SGR are all actually thoroughly looked into as they say, than they do a fantastic job of covering all bases before making a decision. Have to admire that.

Was told by my admissions counselor I would hear early this week only to discover that the entire office of admissions is on an admissions conference. As I was not sgr’d, my decision is now a week late. I understand USC is thorough but this is painful.

Hi, I was wondering if any of you still had the second page of the SGR? I lost mine and was wondering what the address was to send grades to immediately…I remember it was a P.O. Box. If any of you could help I would really appreciate it!

Office Manager
USC Office of Admission
P.O. Box 77952
Los Angeles, CA 90007-0952

@fightingtitan that is one of the given addresses

That’s the one, thank you @gabbyrr!
