I believe you maybe misinterpreting my response. Physics would qualify under Option 1, which is the MechE coursework so therefore it has a higher priority than chemistry. Physics, mathematics, mechE, compsci, etc are under Option 1.

To all those wishing to discuss and connect for the USC 2015 transfer admissions just like those in this thread, I have started an Official USC 2015 transfer thread!!! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1678113-official-usc-2015-transfer-thread.html?new=1

I’m taking business calculus at my community college in hopes that it will satisfy Math 118. The only thing is that i’m taking it online. Are online courses generally accepted to USC?

@glamiex Yes, USC will transfer most online courses, including math. The only exception I am aware of is Foreign Language; those must be taken in the classroom in order to receive transfer credit.

Hey guys! I’m kind of new to college confidential, so I’m still trying to figure this out, but I’m looking to transfer to USC for my sophomore year. I have no idea what my chances are and what they look at besides my current grades. Do you think I have a good shot if I have a 4.0 and currently attend Temple University? I also do two clubs and did a lot of extracurriculars in high school.

Also, since this is the thread from last year, I’m assuming that a lot of you have started at USC: has it been an easy transition? Would you say it’s a good choice to transfer there? I’m worried I won’t be able to make friends easily because everyone already has all of their groups.

@lacm23 I just finished up my first semester as a transfer. As far as academics go, if you’re a pre-med or viterbi student, you have to work incredibly hard right off the bat. But. For any major, it is still an adjustment. Just be prepared to work hard.
As far as making friends go… If you’re willing to put yourself out there (look into clubs, recreational sports, club sports, Greek life, etc) then making friends is easy. There are events happening all over campus a lot of the time and the people I’ve met at 'SC so far are all friendly.
I love USC. It’s worth the transfer. The entire experience is worth the transfer. Just make sure you know it’s where you want to be. Visit. Ask questions. Understand the expectations. Get to know the campus and enjoy the process.

Good luck and Fight On!

I have been keeping up with all of your helpful comments throughout this post. But since many of you were already admitted I just want your opinion:
I’m taking 6 classes and I might get 2 C’s and the rest A’s and B’s. I just got a SHR yesterday. But my question is I applied with a 3.4 go a and if I end up with a 3.2 would that lead to a rejection? What about my C’s?
Also I did have some family issues so should I include that with my SGR or leave it as it it?
Thank you so much and fight on!
