@hepburn95 since I only used CommonApp for USC I used the broad essay to talk specifically about USC too. I think that’s the one in which I quoted Former USC President Steven Sample lol. Good luck to everyone, we should be only weeks away.

@Bravojrrr For the separate USC essay, is it attached to CommonApp or do you send it to USC in a different way? Also, how are your transcripts attached to CommonApp? I have transcripts from two separate schools is why I ask. Thanks for the info.

You request transcripts from your universities/colleges and they send them to USC. The essays are all part of the common app: Please provide a statement that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve (250-650 words). In a short paragraph, please briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences (250 word limit). USC Writing Supplement- Describe your academic interests and how you plan to pursue them at USC. Please feel free to address your first- and second-choice major selections (250 word limit).

@Keybroader I see, 250 words seems very short but I guess they have a lot of applications to review. Thank you.

250 words for the short responses and 650 for the long essay is plenty to tell them exactly who you are. Any more than that and it’s overkill. You’ll figure out a way to write the best essays within the word limit.

Our lives will be determined in a FEW SHORT WEEKS! wow

I was just down at USC yesterday dont expect to hear anything until atleast mid may

Save yourself from the anxiety of checking usconnect everyday

@JR2013 What makes you say that?

I thought people said Late April was when they started sending out decisions?

@greengecko That’s what happened last year.

Perhaps history will repeat itself? lol. i need to calm down.

I don’t think anyone is 100% positive as to when decisions will start rolling out besides admissions counselors (and of course the dean of admissions). It just varies too much between years.

Very few people heard before mid-late may. The majority will hear mid may and after that or recieve an sgr. I applied last year so i already went through the whole 2013 transfer thread. Plus i was down there yesterday speaking with an admissions assistant.

Let’s hope all of us are the select few that hear earliest

If only certain groups of CCer’s represented the entire 8,000+ transfer applicant pool so that we could have a definite date to work with…

I also think it’s nice that admissions set an “at the very latest” date

Hello I am an out of state transfer hopping to major in psychology . I have a 3.77 Gpa with all the requirements . I work 30 hours a week . I am apart of the honors program and the honors society as well. My major Gpa is a 4.0 . Do I have a chance of getting in ?

Sorry for bothering everyone again, lol, I can see you’re all anticipating admissions here and I hope I’m not annoying anyone.

I was just wondering, is it appropriate to ask an admissions counselor some questions about a specific course and if it will transfer? Basically I’ve attended 2 colleges after HS, one of which offered a second semester writing course that completely fits the bill of USC’s WRIT 130. USC also has an articulation history for the exact same class, but just with a different college within the same state (same course name, same exact class). However, I wasn’t required to take the pre-requisite first semester writing course which usually is a pre-requisite. They offered this for like one or two semesters where if you passed this course, you would get a pass/no pass on the first semester course.

In any case, what happened was that at my new college I ended up taking that first semester equivalent course. On my transcript it reads really weird, because I have a second semester English/Composition class finished first followed by a first semester course.

If no one knows, I could really use your guys’ in-general advice. Should I ‘re-take’ this course (articulated with WRIT 130) at my current college?

Thank you!

@JR2013

What are your stats? And last years?
Did you get a SGR when you were rejected?
