Hey guys! I’ve been lurking on this page for a while now and decided to join… I’m a dornsife junior applicant who still hasn’t heard back (no SGR, no access to oasis, nothing new on my portal) but was wondering what you guys would do if you were in my situation??
At this point I’m pretty sure I got rejected haha. It will be my 4th year at a CCC (it is my first time applying to USC though) and while I still have enough lower div classes left to take at my cc, do you think think I’d be wasting a year by not transferring to a UC to get started on my upper divs and just forget my life long dream of going to USC???

@dashleyyy I would say just go to a uc. 5 years at a community college is not worth it just for usc. If anything USC is still an option for grad school! I go to santa monica college and this is my second year, I only applied to USC as a junior applicant and I still havent heard anything back other than a cal grant for them. If things don’t work out I’ll stay another year and apply again but this time I’ll also apply to UC’s. I would’ve applied this year but I didn’t have enough major prep work done for UC. But overall a 5th year is just not worth it in my opinion!
I’m glad I’m not the only one suffering lol. well hopefully all us east coasters will get good new very soon!!!
@nicoley125 sorry I should’ve clarified! It’ll be my 4th year at a CC if I don’t transfer to a UC now. I’ve been at a CC for 3 years. I don’t know if that makes a difference though?
@dashleyyy I still view it the same, what UC’s did you get into?
@nicoley125 i only applied to UCSD(rejected) and UCSC(accepted). I did not complete the SD requirements just thought I’d give it a shot. And UCSC is one of the lower ranked UC’s so I’d rather not go there 
@TonyStark93 I applied there for physics due to it being well respected in that regard. as far as usc goes I’ll only go there if they take me for engineering because ucsb is offering me a pretty good aid package as well.
@dashleyyy What’s your major? Honestly UC’s have a good rep over all so I don’t think it will be that bad going to UCSC, but honestly if I were you I would only stay another year at a cc if I knew for sure I would get into USC after that. Do you have that certainty if you were to stay?
If I havent heard back yet should I be worried? I sent in my SGR a couple weeks ago and finished my first year a top 50 4-year with a 3.9 GPA for Business, I really dont think i would get rejected…
@nicoley125 nope… I can only make my application stronger and hope for the best. But I will have the certainty of getting into better UC’s next time around if I don’t get into USC.

My mail came today as well, since I did not receive anything, i guess i can say I was rejected?
Mail still delivers on Saturday too. Also I haven’t received any mail yet but I did get accepted on YouSC. It’s entirely possible that for whatever reason its taking longer to arrive.
