Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

@HeartlandCali From my understanding, USC may request a W-2 form from parents if the parent has some ownership in a business, partnership, or corporation (i.e source of income aside from pay checks). Two weeks ago, USC asked for my parent’s statements but not mine’s (income gained by working).

@teggy13 Georgia

@HelloThereFellow I know of two Marshall applicants who were SGR’d earlier in the month and admitted this week. Not sure how their stats were though.

Decision: Accepted
Major: Public Policy (Price)
Overall GPA: 3.92
Current Institution: OOS 4 Year

Other schools applied: SCU, USC, UCSC, UCD, UCB
Accepted: SCU, UCSC, UCB, USC
Waitlisted: UCD
Rejected: N/A

Sadly, the cost of USC is too much of a financial hardship for both myself and my parents. For that reason I will be attending UC Berkeley in the fall. I hope my stats help anyone else applying for the future and best of luck to anyone else still waiting for decision results!

@HeartlandCali @YoGabbaGabby96 I got a request at 2:30 am two days ago from Financial aid asking for W2 and capital gains. I’m assuming the same, why would they keep requesting info this late in the game? Especially since my decision has already been made ? I think it may be a good sign guys! As for the midnight thing, they will update in the morning and it updates automatically late at night(I know, weird)

I called admissions and they said they are still making decisions and sending them out, and she said the physical application will arrive first and several days later they’ll update the yousc portal. She also said to take into account delivery time, so it seems possible to receive your decision after June 1st.

Does usc ever wait list? it seems as if quite a few applicants accepted are going to other schools so it opens more spots?

@anamazing they don’t wait list but you may be admitted for spring

Thanks @usc4mepls. I was surprised to have the portal change during the day, as I had checked it this morning, and it was status quo, as it had been for a couple months. Then this afternoon it was asking for the W-2. Maybe an email request for the W2 will get sent out tonight, as you suggest - I haven’t yet gotten an email. Better yet would be to have my application portal change to an acceptance tonight, or for something gold to arrive in tomorrow’s mail. The wait continues, but there’s still hope!

@Anamazing No waitlist. USC is already accepting more applicants than the amount of spots available. However, administration knows not all student will be attending, therefore the ratio of acceptance to spots available will eventually even out.

@smileyface31 are you a JR or Sophomore applicant?

I submitted my spring grades a day or two ago and my paragraph above the messages changed back to saying I would find out by June 1st soooo can anyone clarify when SGR applicants will approximately hear back?

GUYS STOP CALLING THE ADMISSION OFFICE ABOUT YOUR APPLICATION AND WEATHER YOUR HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED OR NOT. THEY ARE GOING TO GIVE YOU THE SAME RESPONSE. Jesus man your going to know, they have to answer legit questions, stop bugging them, because you aren’t patient enough, man i agree with someone in this thread, if you guys kept calling me wanting to know if you got in i would deny you just because of the fact your an annoyance…

Lolololl @MakeMilDolMove

@MakeMilDolMove I’m a Sophomore transfer who received an SGR May 3rd, and received acceptance today by mail

@MakeMilDolMove for grammar mistakes also (jk).

@smileyface31 Ok cool, Congrats BTW. If you can you should post your stats in the Transfer Decision thread.

Thanks!

@smileyface31 http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1772049-usc-transfer-decisions-thread-2015-p8.html. That’s the link to that thread just in case you couldn’t find it. I think the more ppl who post their stats the better sense people can get about their chances now and maybe even next year.

@HeartlandCali yeah I know! I’m from la and they made their decision very quickly with me and I really hope I get it tomorrow!
