Spring break just started… meaning I’ll be on cc 24/7 until I go crazy and pass out
My portal is back to normal…
I’m sure the portal change was just a glitch!
@Platinumxx2 If don’t go to USC I will likely go to University of Miami
Hey everyone,
I though I might say this just in case I’m not the only one. I called USC FA division Tuesday because on my portal it says they have not received ANY of my FA documents even though I sent them in the week before the deadline. They found my documents but said that the reason my portal says they received no FA documents is because my portal is not linked to my social security #. Had I not called, I wouldn’t have received any FA from USC. So if any of you applied for FA but your portal says they have not received your documents, I suggest calling to make sure that you are not in the same situation as I am.
I’m confused. Will Trustee and Presidential Scholarship awards be posted in YOUSC portal this weekend or will we have to wait for the March 24th mailing to arrive on the 26th or 27th?
Guys, did you check the status of your financial aid application? Mine was somehow incomplete (all of my friends’ were too), but I’ve just now finished it.
@learn2019 It’s my understanding the snail mailing of the Scholarship decisions are done separately. All Admission will say is that those decisions will be before April 1 and I’ve read that they come in small, white envelopes (and I think first class mail, not priority - though I don’t remember where I read that). Last year, though, there were some comments from recipients saying they saw their decisions on their portals on Saturday, March 22, which was the week before regular admission decisions were mailed and posted. No one commented about finding out via snail mail. So it’s still a guessing game
If I don’t get in fall 2015
- hopefully I’ll be one of the rare people that get Spring 2016
- I’ll go to local community college and transfer
Or 3) settle for another option
Hoping I get in fall 2015!!!
@jessdilla2015 in all honesty, I’m actually hoping for spring admit. It is the ionly way that i can go to usc because it’s the cheapest option
@newsie2015 how cheap is it? Plus, does that mean graduation is a semester off?
@Itsdomoo one less semester to pay for USC and from their site my understanding is that you still graduate in spring 2019 because you take classes at a JC or something before you start in spring
@jessdilla2015 what do u have to do to get into the spring? Is it because the fall is full?
My financial aid wasn’t connected either. She said I’ll be sent an email and then should call back next week.
@Itsdomoo yeah pretty much, i think its like people they want to be at USC but the competion was so fierce for fall that they rolled over some into Spring. I guess you could think of it as like a step up from the waiting list.
@itsdomoo basically spring admits are the people that USC wants to admit but the entering fall class is too full. Usually the spring admits are the applicants with lower stats. You can save a LOT of money because you aren’t paying for a meal plan or room and board or as high of a tuition if you attend a CC. I plan to take 18 credits at my CC if I get in for spring admit. I’m looking into taking 6 credits over the summer so that when I start USC I don’t have to take as many general ed classes.
Also, if you are a spring admit and don’t want to attend you local CC you can study abroad at the partner schools in Paris, Switzerland, London or Rome for the semester. Some will move to LA and stay in an apartment while attending a CC that USC has articulation agreements with.
Kids can still graduate on time even if they plan to double major.
@Jessdilla2015 That’s interesting! Where on the website does it say that?
