Official Wash U RD Decisions - Class of 2011

ms_2007, “snail mail” is an idiom–means regular mail, the post. It’s called “Snail” because it’s SLOWWWWWW.

haha… thanks… so true… so true tho…

also… do only those applicants that recieved an invitation to multicultural weekend or any other all expense paid trip find out early, or will Wash U inform other RD applicants of their decision later in mid-march? Thanks :)

Everyone finds out by mid-March (maybe not the 15th on the dot…last year normal RD applicants found out by the 17th-18th). You are right; the people who have already been notified are special cases.

Thanks for the info, MallomarCookie. SO when the office of undergrad admissions insists that April 1st is the decision date, is that for some people? or generally MOST people find out Mid-March… I really appreciate it :)

No, no. All the regular RD applicants (ie, the non-special ones, because those have been contacted already) will find out at the same time, by mid-March (18th-ish). Wash U says April 1, but decisions come out earlier than that.

what a relief :stuck_out_tongue: … thanks so much! Good luck with your decisions!

So am i right in thinking that rejections will be email by marth 17th as well?

No decisions are emailed, unless you’re accepted early for Olin. You can find out around the 17th online on your status page, or you can wait for the snail mail decisions which will probably be mailed around the 17th also.

kinda strange that i received the letter already but my status online still isn’t changed.

wait… were you accepted for the multicultural wknd sakuragirl? for CAS? congratulations!

sakuragirl congrats! But weren’t you already accepted when you got the University Scholars Finalist notification?

Anyone else notice the bright blue NEW button on the Application and Guides section of the admission page?

Don’t know if it means that the decisions will be posted…

Actually I think it just means they’ve put up next year’s app?

“Application for Undergraduate Admission to the Class of 2012
(the class entering in fall 2008)”

wow that’s early…so juniors can start on their apps now? i would give automatic admission to anybody who’s that motivated :stuck_out_tongue: (…i didn’t start on my app until Dec. XD)

answering Chet2006’s question, the Univ. Scholars Program didn’t tell me that i was officially accepted. so yes, the letter was for the multicultural weekend. too bad it’s in April. otherwise, i would love to go :)

Aw man, I got so excited by the little blue thing. Almost there…

Asians can be invited to multicultural week?!?!?!? So if you’re an Asian who hasn’t gotten anything you’re rejected?

Guess what guys? Multicultural weekend isn’t based on your race. My totally white friend was invited and so was my Korean friend. It is just a weekend to come down and visit the campus. The people who are getting these early notification letters are people who were exceptional applicants. Everyone else finds out online later. Stop freaking out.
