I doubt I got a letter today, but Iām still hopeful!</p>
<p>I got my acceptance letter today in Western Michigan. </p>
<p>The financial aid is really disappointing, though. They expect my family to pay about $10,000 more than what the government thought we would pay, and the governmentās EFC is already about $10,000 more than we could really afford. </p>
<p>I thought Wellesley was supposed to be really good for financial aidā¦ :/</p>
<p>yeah same hereā¦ my expected family contribution was 20 grand more than what the government saidā¦ does anyone know if calling them might help?</p>
<p>You could always call them and try to get a better fin aid package. Reference what other need-based schools have awarded you helps too.</p>
<p>Thatās weird. My expected family contribution is 13,000 less than what the government said. You should try to negotiate for a better package like haematic suggested.</p>

<p>Iām totallyā¦blank. Wellesley was my first choice, and I guess I just didnāt think I would get rejected. I thought I had lots of chances of getting waitlistedā¦but a complete rejection?</p>
<p>I visited the campus twice, had an amazing on-campus interview, and visited/experienced a class. My SAT is 2220, SAT IIs are all above 700, Busy ECs with 3 yrs class president, NHS Model UN, Band, Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Most of all though, I sent Wellesley a personal letter to really show that I wanted to come. It was genuine and ppl who read it could feel my passion for Wellesleyā¦</p>
<p>and this passion was met with outright rejection. Wow. I donāt even know what Iām going to do nowā¦</p>
