Yeah that would be unfortunate for you lollipop… but really either way your going to be dealing with a whole slew of unforseen circumstances given Harvard and Princeton’s decisions anyways so… its gonna be messy for the 2012ers no matter what.

i’m in the same boat as lollipop. i’m afraid that all these people who would normally apply early to harvard and princeton will now apply early to yale just because they feel like they have to apply early to somewhere, not because they just really love yale. but i still really hope that yale will keep early action, because of the slight chance that i could get in to my dream school by december and be done with stressing out my senior year.

i would be fine with early decision, but do you think yale would do that just to ensure that they weren’t having people apply who aren’t really that commited?

well, i finally got my ACT score (3 weeks late, nice job ACT people) and it’s soul-crushingly bad. so much for my yale aspirations. nine days until rejection. lovely.

Luckily, however, no one knows what will make or break a person…and scores aren’t always the end all. Seriously, just keep your head up, you seem like a very solid applicant who has a good chance regardless of scores. Just try not to worry too much, even though it’s hard :(

vegangirl, are you sure your ACT score is soul-crushingly bad? According to your previous chance thread, you had a 34 composite ACT. Why did you retake a 34, which is really really good?
If you retook, even if you got less than your original 34, I’d be surprised if your score was actually “bad.”
You are definitely not getting rejected on the basis of your 34 ACT…unless you were making that 34 up, which I highly doubt, since you’re not a liar and you posted your section scores. Stop worrying!!!

Does anybody know if they report the statistics of the Single Choice Early Action (like, 600/4000 applicants accepted) before they release the decisions to the applicants? I think I would like that better than hearing afterwards.

no but they post a link to the stats on your decision site… so you could just block out the lower half of your computer and click on the stats and then go back to read your decision… if you really cared that much! Haha

Elihopeful- I had to retake the 34 because the 34 was without writing (in CO all hs juniors have to take the ACT in place of the regular standardized test, but they only offer it without writing). That was unfortunate because I somehow did excellent on science on that test (36) and much, much worse this time (28). Threw my whole composite, as you might imagine. oh well, such is life. there are other schools besides yale, i just have to keep reminding myself that.

Too fast? It’s going by extremely slowly in my opinion. A week and a day! I do panic. My current baseless worry is that my counselor knows my decision already…she’s been pestering me about completing other applications lately…if she knows, then her pestering must mean I wasn’t accepted. IF she knows, that is!
