I also found that strange, because his pledge came right after mine. I meant for mine to indicate that neither of my parents have gone to college, but I’m not sure why RipRock used seventh generation rather than legacy.

^ If you’re saying you’re an ORM because you’re caucasian, I believe ORM = asian; ORM =/= white.

7th generation: Dad’s cousins, Grandmother’s brother and her 10 first cousins, great GF and his brothers, great, great GF and great, great, great GF in ~1820’s. I talked to my family that are alumni. They say at best it will get me a third read. Neither dad nor mom went. That’s it. And that’s the way it should be, just a third read.

Nope. A legacy would have a mother or father that attended Yale. There is a special box, maybe for 250 characters or two sentences, in Section VII (Additional Family Information) of the suplement that allows you put other relatives that were not a parent, step=parent or grandparent that attended Yale. It’s called Other Relatives.

Quite honestly, my chances would probably be better if there were no legacy benefit of any kind for anyone.

Quite honestly, I was advised to downplay it by a relative. My aunt applied in the 1970’s and she didn’t get in. But that was shortly after women were allowed to attend. Her three cousins did get in, but their dad was an alumn. They were in my view true legacies, but also applied during a time where it was easier for everyone to get in. Anyhow, good luck to all. Don’t get too excited and anxious, because it will be a big let down if you don’t get in. We’ll all be happy wherever we eventually end up.
