hey hey, there’s still 2nd quarter!!! i probably have a C in AP Calc…dun, dun, dunnnn.

I have a B in BC Calc. 0.4% away from a B+, too :(

i hava b+ in AB
btw
is there any advantage to sending the app in early or jus waitin a few days…

They don’t look at quarter grades, though, do they? I thought they waited until the Midyear report to see senior year grades.

Anyway, I just submitted my app. GUGHEIUTGNELIUGHNEILUHGIUEHE.

I think they require your quarter grades if your school has them. Someone correct me if I’m wrong and make my day haha

App is in. My friend is also applying ED, has perfect grades, and is getting personalized advice from a friend of the family, a Yale admissions officer. Suck.

Submitted at 8:09 p.m.

I feel so relieved. I can finally start to catch up on the hw I didn’t do in order to make time to write my essays.

I still don’t know whether to submit a resume or a list with the CommonApp format :(

I was so excited about sending it in, and confident that I have some kind of chance. But now that it is sent and I can’t do anything else about it…well…let’s just say I haven’t ever REALLY thought about how I would feel if I didn’t get accepted until now.

I really hope I get good news Dec 15, and I wish the best of luck to all of you!

Can someone explain the admissions process again? I know there are regional reps/readers for specific areas, i.e. Montana or whatever and that there’s another person who reads your app. Then do those two decide which “move on”? Or do all applications get eventually evaluated by the board of admissions?

does yale SCEA require midyear or first semester grades? someone asked this earlier, but no one replied…

i submitted my EA application a few days ago…so nervewracking!

Hey guys, this is my first post after lurking for a while on this site!

I sent out my app about a week or so ago (on my birthday, to add a little bit of silly luck into the mix), and I haven been alternatively zen and nauseated by the idea of the college admissions process. Mostly because I just really want to get into Yale so badly.

Best of luck to everyone, though! I know a lot of people probably feel the same way I do.

However, I was wondering if anyone else is sending in any supplementary materials?

I think you can only send in supplementary things, (like artwork, or a recording of music), if you happen to have redefined chiaroscuro shading, or rearranged a work of Brahms and made it sound better.

Yale says (On their website, at some tabbed page for supplementary materials)

"Please Do Not Send:

• Submissions that do not demonstrate an unusually high level of ability. "

If you’re on that level in anything, you’re probably set, because 90% of applicants sure as heck aren’t.

Anyone else have that post-application-submission regret? That you should have changed this, or put that, or done something differently? bleh.

^ Yes. I accidentally uploaded my supp. essay into both the place where it’s supposed to be and the fee waiver place. Also, the day after I submitted my app I won 4 major statewide awards. Bleargh, now I have to send them a letter.

@collegehopefull, I was just asking in general whether or not anyone else was sending something. I pretty much have to send something in now that I have checked that little box. But now you’re making me regret it. I had assumed that the FAQ meant an unusually high level of ability for a high schooler, not for artists in general. Well, at least I know that they might not even look at it.

I was convinced that I was going to have my app done by the 25th, but, alas. Looks like I’m going to be a 30th/31st kinda girl. :|

@ hellosail

did you do an art supp? did you do slides or CD(,jpg files)?

the yale site used to say ‘slides are preferred’ but recently it was changed to “images should be in .jpg format on a cd”…slides are also accepted" …does that mean CDs are preferred now? well that’s what i sent but…im so paranoid. :[

@ptoncollege09: I KNOW! I hate that they changed it in the middle of the application process! I was so upset when they changed it because I had just ordered $50 worth of slides, like the day before (I am obsessive about instructions and continually check them until I send stuff in and even afterwards, I check them every once in a while to remind myself if I did anything wrong). I mean, I need them for other things as well, but I could’ve saved myself a little bit of money.

I don’t think you should worry. If that is what they say on their website, that is what they say and they can’t fault you for listening to what they say.

Haha yeah. I told myself that I would send it in by the 20th, and I sent it in on the 26th. I guess there’s a 6-day disconnect between a personal deadline and when it actually happens. I asked the office, and they said they had already convened to start looking at applications a month ago… So I guess there’s no point in one or two extra days early now.
