Oh no, I ran over my neighbors dog!

I totally agree. The only circumstance where I might offer is if I knew for a fact that the cost might be extremely difficult for the family . Or of course if I was at fault!

I guarantee these people already feel bad for the hardship of @conmama ’s emotions after today’s incident!

When my brother’s dogs were hit by a car (dogs escaped from a fenced backyard, got onto the highway; one was killed, the other hit in the back legs), my mother made chicken soup for the dog. Just like with a human, it made him drink more.

That dog lived another 10 years or so. He always had issues with his back legs (didn’t like to sit, couldn’t do stairs) but otherwise recovered.

I still miss him.

Update on dog: The femur was forced back into the joint. No surgery needed. Probs my just a month long recovery. I’m so relieved.

Still make him the chicken soup (with owner’s permission!)
