Fancy Feast broths are one of the products that don’t contain essential nutrients. In particular cats need taurine in their daily diet. Fancy Feast’s web site says:

Ok…maybe I’ll mix the broth with a SauceSations!

After a lifetime of living with cats, I found out a couple of years ago that “whisker fatigue” can cause finicky eating. Cats like food on a plate or larger shallow bowl, so that their whiskers don’t ever touch the sides.
I did use to put the food on a small saucer on a raised base.
Have you tried Delectables? Kind of like a soup for cats:
^^ Thanks…it appears this might be at Walmart, but if not, the Amazon price is about the same.
had to laugh at some of the reviews. Many have the same problem with older cats only wanting to lick their food.
And…wow…this review:
“My cat is 26 years old. She prefers the liquidy type food now. I had bought these at the store before and she loved them.”
A cat that old? Wow!
Update…
Purchased some Delectables and some Friskies Gravy Sensations. My cat loves both types, but looking at the packaging, the Gravy Sensations is a better deal. They’re both the same price, but Gravy Sensations has 3oz, while Delectables only has 1oz-1.5oz, depending on flavor. And Gravy Sensations is “nutrition complete” while Delectables is a treat. However, I think the Delectables has some specific extra nutrients for older cats, so nice to give for treats.
These are pricey, so I will also continue to also use the 5.5oz canned Friskies SauceSations as well. My other cat doesn’t mind finishing off whatever my older cat won’t eat. Now, at least older cat is getting better nutrition.
I did see some Fancy Feast broths and will try some next time.
Thanks to everyone!!!
My beloved boy was like this before he passed and we switched him to Tiki Cat for a year. There are many different flavors but his favorite was Sardines- my son’s cat (who is a young girl!) will only eat the Chicken flavor. If you can’t find it near you, Amazon delivers it quickly.
My cats are big fans of Tiki… Chewy has it!
Wow, the Tiki is much better deal than the Delectables, which is the only thing my cat eats at the moment. Are there chunks in it or is it a smooth/bisque-type food? Even with the Fancy Feast broth cans, my cat just licks the sauce and leaves everything else. With the Delectable, not sure how he does it, but he manages to leave behind bits of sand-sized granuals. Really need to find something more “saucy” lol and less $$.
My two old cats, who were both ill last year, one with liver disease, the other with thyroid disease, will only eat some flavors of FF Appetizers. I also give them packets of the broths. The thyroid girl scratches me all night to open more packs for her! The FF Appetizer trays are expensive, and sometimes the two of them eat 6 a day. I also supplement with FF Dry, the green bag, and they will nibble on that as well, especially if I’m out of the house all day. I have several other cats, so whatever they don’t eat go downstairs to the rest of the group.
I use the Pate varieties. If one of my cats has a poor appetite for some reason or if it is cold out, I’ll mix it with some warm water to make it like a gruel.
Did you see the Tiki pouches? @NEPatsGirl

And have you tried the Friskies Gravy Sensations? It may have more nutrition than the Delectables which is really a treat.
