This is such a legit Vandy thread, it makes me so happy.

Usually, flaming liberals come in here and get all riled up about how Vandy’s “Southern” or “conservative” or “too fratty” or “judgmental.” They start condescending and acting stupid, so the current students start acting condescending and stupid, and everybody walks away thinking the same thing and not having found anything out about anything, and most certainly nothing about Vanderbilt.

Now we see what happens when the flaming liberals come in and actually use their heads. Mad respect to this hilsa character for not freaking out when people told him/her what he/she didn’t want to hear, and being able to talk to VandySAE like a real person.

VandyPrayer is also highly legit, all you calling it (I’m just going to start referring to usernames that I don’t know the gender of ‘it’) racist or homophobic or whatever have never actually met a racist or a homophobe and are just chomping at the bit to show how much better you are. It’s Christian. Big deal. Aren’t you all about “accepting those who are different from you?” Act like it. VandyPrayer has been so ridiculously respectful and thoughtful (although phrases like “the gay lifestyle” are a little bit tacky). To think y’all are supposed to be the open ones.

Look at the two current students posting on this thread. Are they conservative? Yes. Do they condone or appreciate homosexuality? No, not really. But are they legit, smart, thoughtful people? Yes, absolutely. That’s your student body. I’m the most liberal dude out there, (I’m auditioning for BFA Musical Theatre programs, f’chrissakes, you think I could get around not liking gay people?) but those two “it”'s keep it real, and you have to respect that.

And you two obviously know I’m not trying to knock you for your homo-stances.
