One and done? [Housing]

The wait list started midnight wednesday . The update was posted Feb. 23 and stated it would start at midnight.

Sorry, I was 23 hours late… looked at the calendar wrong.

I wish we could know what the housing situation was and roomates before War Eagle Camp. It would be nice to see if any roommates are attending the same Camp. Even earlier would be nice so roommates could possibly attempt to reserve the same Camp War Eagle. Does it really take until June to tell early depositors?

Unfortunately, housing assignments do not go out until starting in mid June and going into July.

Which buildings are listed “potential housing expansion” on the pdf referred to above? (I looked through all 25 pages and never saw that phrase). I remember looking at this pdf last year before my daughter attended Auburn. ALL the buildings that listed in the sketches on the entire pdf ARE already built, as Mustange 2000 said. I know his daughter lives in Aubie. My daughter lives in Eagle (which is the building where the tour is taken). In addition, if you go to the official campus maps on Auburn.edu, you will see that all the buildings listed there are built (although if you click on the building in the map, you may get an OLD photo showing the building while it was being constructed). But this is the 2nd year that all the Village halls are being used. Only throwing in my two cents, so there is no confusion.

To see the buildings labeled “potential housing expansion” click on link above and go to page 24. If you look at the area above buildings 5 & 6( Eagle & Tiger halls) you will see pale yellow buildings label “potential housing expansion”. At the moment on the campus map that area is campus parking.

Regretfully due to other construction issues in the 2010 and 2011 priority lists, including the renovation of the CDV which in turn will help house Hill students as they renovate the Hill dorms over a couple of years, these will not be ready for my 13 year old. :frowning:

On a positive note, priorities can change.

My apologies – you are quite right about the “potential housing expansion” in the parking area. I evidently had never enlarged the page enough to make that out before (and the old eyes aren’t what they used to be!) I cannot imagine what they would do for parking – those lots are full with the current Village housing – many of the students do not win the parking lottery and have to park in the overflow lots.

Anyway, I stand corrected and thanks for pointing that out. My daughter lives in Eagle, but will be living off campus beginning next year. However, she has LOVED the Village!

We toured Auburn last week and put down our tuition deposit. Son is in honors and a Presidential Scholar. I’m sure he has no shot at The Village, we are waiting for the waiting list application to come online, but would he be guaranteed housing somewhere since he is in Honors and has the scholarship? He is still deciding on where he is going, but he really was impressed with the Industrial Design Program, so that has put Auburn toward the top. He still is waiting to hear from a few more schools…

yes, with them needing to add additional parking before they could build the additional village dorms, I was not planning on them being there while my daughter was at Auburn.

NMF are the only people guaranteed a housing spot. I would think the chances would be good if he got on the waiting list when the application goes back on line today. There will be people who paid the housing deposit in the fall that will decide to go elsewhere, freeing up space.

I stalked the housing page all day and they never posted it, now it says it will go on tomorrow. I did find a private residence hall that is actually less expensive than on campus…so that will be my ace in the hole I think…
